About Lani Radack:

If Lani Radack did not loathe the fact that Lesbians use too many classifications for themselves, she would call herself an Agnostic, Jewish, girly-girl, feminist, Lesbian, Poet, teacher. While she was a middle and high school English teacher in a former life, Lani now works as a kindergarten reading and ELL teacher in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In the summer of 2002, she began writing again after a long hiatus and hit the Women's slam world with glitter and a vengeance. Since then, Lani has won 2 Cambridge Poetry Awards for Female Slam Poet of the Year and Humorous Poet of the Year (2003). She has featured at the 2003 Boston Dyke March, the Lizard Lounge, the Cantab Lounge and Bentley College's Take Back the Night ceremony. She is also the only Poet in its history to become a three time Amazon Super Slam champion. Her Poetry was selected for Voices Magazine (Duke University) and the Ain't Yer Sister queer Women's anthology. She is looking to publish a book about Lesbian battering within the next five years in order to give voice to the thousands of Lesbians who are survivors of domestic violence and partner abuse.
