About Texena: I go by the handle Texena derived from the fact I am Texan and I love the TV show "Xena: Warrior Princess." I shall continue to use this name for Internet purposes because I prefer not to become de-churched. What they don't know, won't hurt them: God and I have arrived at a personal understanding about who I am. Before starting on this autobio, I asked friends to describe in one sentence who they perceive me to be. I got back the words caring, wise, unselfish, friend, tender, compassionate, loyal, trustworthy, non-judgmental, loving, and mature. They missed one: great actress. I must be to get so many people to think such nice things about me. A few months ago, I admitted aloud for the first time my attraction to Women. I did so in a very safe environment, one where I knew I would get no censure. Then the admissions became more widely spread. I feared for a quite a while I had lost a 30 year friend. I received this from her recently: "I care for you as my longest and dearest friend ... God knows, if anyone deserves happiness, you do. So go on, Woman. Live your life. Nothing will ever change our friendship." A newer friend was accepting after just a few hours of turmoil. The reason for the telling of this is to say if it's real, it will survive. It took a while with my 30 year friend because she had known the pretender for so long, I guess; but she came around. My writing - I have written off and on since high school. It comes easily to me; I just don't do it very often. Shame on me. |
