I had always dreamed of travelling but I had not imagined it would be so soon, or under these circumstances. Now I am flying across the pacific about 50 miles out of land. Pandemonium had broken out in Australia as some cave explorer’s found a cavern that opened up during a large earth quake.

There was something strange in the cavern, the only word to explain it is Dragon. Well that’s not even the worst of it. The creature was huge its shadow cast over kilometres of space. It looked like it had a chameleon time body with sharp and nasty looking paws at the end of each leg. It had a large sort of short head with rows of sharp teeth in its maw.

The wings were massive and mildly transparent and the tail was tipped with a large spikes. The creature flew over the continent and you could see it from miles away everyone was terrified but that was nothing until the dragon let forth a massive spout of fire.

That was when chaos broke out. People ran around screaming and trying to escape, but how could you escape. The beast was huge, it had no limits. It crushed people and ate people. Burnt down whole town and cities in a single pass. It destroyed planed and copters that were trying to leave the continent. It sank ships and air craft carriers with no more than a large clawed paw.

The beast seemed to be in a rage but know one had an idea as to why. Two week ago when it broke free of it’s earthen shackles it went on a rampage. My parents along with thousands of other people were killed in the carnage. I was devastated, I went into hiding in some caves near where I had lived all my life.

When I thought it was safe to venture out I kept under covered and headed to the closest air port. I wasn’t licensed to fly but I knew how, my father was a pilot for a commercial airline and had taught me a lot about it. I was finally able to put all my learning to the test.

It turned out pretty successful, I found a plane in one of the only hangars that wasn’t burnt down. I checked the fuel and then got the plane in the air, I hadn’t seen the dragon since I left the little hole I had taken residence in so I figured it must have moved on.

I didn’t know why I thought America was a good idea, I just figured that it would be more than reasonable since they would have the kind of artillery you would expect capable of handling a dragon. I couldn’t be sure though, there was no television in Australia any more.

I got to America and knew I would have to land soon so I took the plane down a few hundred feet and as I dropped below the lie of clouds my heart dropped as well. The place was still smouldering in places and it looked lifeless. I circled LA once and was Dismayed to see that LAX was reduced to nothing but blackened debris.

I turned the plane and headed further in land. I was low fuel and eager for some place to land. I looked below the plane at the earth and smiled a little when I saw a long flat meadow and decided that was where I needed to land. I circled it once and then took the plane down landed with the breeze behind me.

I landed the plane smoothly in the meadow and smiled to myself and silently thanked my father for the years of telling me how to fly a plane. I left the cockpit and moved back into the cabin of the plane and looked through the storage cabinet for some food that may have been in there.

There was a few cans of fruits and some packets of crackers but everything else seemed to be spoiled. I left the soda but took several of the small bottles of water that were in there. Once my little back pack was full of the meagre supplies I could find I left the plane and started across the meadow. The entire time my eyes were on the sky I ran as far as I could my adrenaline taking me further than my body normally would have.

The sun was just going down when I made it to former city, I don’t know which is was I didn’t know where I was or how far in land I had landed and then ran. But I made it in before it got dark. Walking through the streets that were covered in burnt out cars and still smouldering buildings. A large crashing sound startled me to the point that I almost leapt into the building I was walking beside.

The silhouette of a large building crashing to the ground eased my heart rate mildly and I continued walking along. Finally I found a building that was no longer on fire and still gave a lot of cover. I climbed into it curled up in a corner after drinking a bottle of water and slept.

The next week was a long one, I was getting a little more paranoid as time went on and I was out of food. I found the occasional vending machine that still had some food in it and found a way to smash my way into it. I was really hungry for something substantial.

The weeks went by and I travelled from city to town and town to city. If I had to guess I would have thought I was some where around the middle of the country. It was an over cast and breezy day when I saw it again. The dragon flew down out of the clouds towards the earth and my initially thought was to get to cover. That was when I noticed the way in which the dragon was flying.

As I watched it descend towards the earth I noticed a few different things about the beast. The most obvious was the way the dragon was flying, it was dropping faster than I initially thought and one of its wings was only partially spread causing the dragon to tilt and bank in a large spiral towards the earth.

The next thing I noticed was the size of the beast, it looked smaller. I watched as it dropped quickly and wondered if it would hit the ground hard enough to be killed, I felt a little bad for the beast. That’s when I heard it. An ear splitting bugle from above the clouds caused the earth to shake and the falling dragon answered back in what I took as a plea.

I moved up a hill covered in spruce trees and continued to watch the dragon fall. Then the large one dropped into view. There was large easily seem furrows in the big dragons scales that I hadn’t noticed the first time I had seen the creature. It dropped down and without hesitation it clamped its jaws around the smaller dragons neck. There was an audible crunch as the dragons hit the earth and I watched on as the larger one ripped a the smaller one.

After what seemed like a long time the smaller dragon stopped fighting back and lay still beneath the larger one. With another loud roar the bigger dragon took off back into the air. I listened as the sound of the wing beats got further and further away and the dragon was again above the clouds.

My mind was reeling as I started moving again, toward the grounded dragon. Two dragons was blowing my mind and it occurred to me that if there was two there would potentially be more. A shudder went up my spine as I moved slowly closer to the dragon.

“What the hell are you doing?!” The female voice startled me so much I tripped over and gave a startled cry.

I jumped back to my feet and spun towards the sound. There was a woman, maybe a few hours than myself jogging towards me from the direction of the spruce covered hill. I stared at her in disbelief for a moment.

“What do you mean?” I asked when she was closer.

“I mean, why are you going towards the daft creature. You were some how lucky enough to fly over here and now your walking right towards one of the nasty beasts.” The woman responded when she got to me.

She bent over and panted and I chuckled inwardly at how unfit the woman seemed. Smiling I got her some of the water that was in my pack and handed it to her, I waited until she was done before I spoke.

“I don’t know. I am curious about it that is all. Don’t you find them at least a bit intriguing?” I asked curiously as I turned to look at the still leviathan.

“Not enough to want to go and stand next to it. What if it isn’t dead it might eat us.” The woman said raising an eyebrow.

“Well why don’t you stay here, I want to go and check it out. Besides I don’t even know you, though I assume you’re the person who has been following me.” I said questioningly.

Over the weeks since I first landed the plane I had been aware that someone had been following me. Sounds in the night and the occasional glimpse over my shoulder as random movement caught my attention.

The woman had the grace to blush and I smiled to myself. Something about the woman made me really enjoy that she had finally showed herself. She shuffled her feet and I found myself noticing a lot of things about her.

Shoulder length brown hair hung lose around her face and her green eyes were bright and presently imploring, her mouth was set in a stubborn line. I tilted my head a little as I looked at her face and then frown when I found myself thinking she was stunningly attractive. I never thought those kinds of thoughts about anyone. Sex and relationships had never appealed to me.

“My names Maggie and yeah I was following you.” She sounded a little apologetic.

“Why’d you never come introduce yourself? Afraid I bite?” I grinned a little and turned and started towards the dragon again.

“No, but I'm afraid that thing bites. Come on don’t go near it.” She sounded pleading and it made me want to make her feel better.

“It’s probably dead. Calm down. I just want to check it out.” I said rolling my eyes a little.

She walked along beside me grumbling under head breath and I found myself wondering how old she was. My curiosity got the better of me and I asked the question lightly.

“29. How about you? You failed to introduce yourself.” Maggie asked me and I chuckled.

“I’m Billy. 21 in… 3 weeks.” I frowned when I realised it had almost been two months since the dragon first burst forth.

“And you know how to fly Boeing’s?” Maggie sounded disbelieving.

“My daddy was a pilot.” I said a little proudly.

“Where is your family?” We was within a 100 meters of the dragon now and I felt like Maggie was just trying to distract herself with the questions.

“They were killed by the dragon. They had no chance the fools. Went looking for my good for nothing brother. I was a coward and went and hid in some caves.” I fought back the tears and willed myself not to get upset.

“That’s rough.” She touched my shoulder in a sympathetic gesture and it was almost my undoing.

“Its ok, at least they don’t have to run around all paranoid that they might be dragon fodder and scavenge out of vending machines.” I tried to smile but I know it didn’t each my eyes.

A sound ahead of us stopped us from saying anything else and we looked at the dragon and noticed the ash and dirt kick up near its nostrils. We both stopped dead and stared and suddenly one of the large eyes opened and the pupil focused on us. I felt Maggie’s hand slide into mine and chuckled on the inside.

We stood for a long moment, both of us just staring at large eye. I was amazed by the size of the eye, it was as large as Maggie was tall, which was about 6 feet 2 inches. And it was the colour of natural amber with flecks of dark brown through it. The main thing I noticed about the eye was the way it made me feel.

I could see the agony in the large eye and it made me want to weep. I unconsciously squeezed Maggie’s hand and then stepped closer to the dragon pulling her with me. She pulled back and I let go of her hand and slowly moved over to the dragon’s huge head.

“Billy, come away from it. That thing could swallow you whole.” Maggie was pleading with me but I ignored it and walked right up to the creatures head and stood where it could still focus on me.

“It doesn’t want to eat anyone Mag, its dying.” I said quietly, she seemed to get the courage to come stand behind me.

“How do you know it’s dying?” Maggie sounded like she was in the verge of hysterics.

“Well look at it, cant you see the defeat in its eye? The agony it is in? I wish I could help it out.” I still felt like weeping.

“Help it? Its partner wiped out the human race pretty much.” Maggie was scowling at me.

“Yeah its partner did that, and even then, it didn’t let us suffer. This poor things in agony.”

“And what would you do for it?”

“I don’t know Maggie.” I was getting mildly annoyed, mostly at myself.

She must have picked up on my mood because she stopped interrogating me and I moved around the dragons head to look at its neck. The sight was atrocious as there was deep wounds and gashes along the long neck.

I cringe and walked along the length of the neck with Maggie half a step behind me. I noticed the heaving chest of the dragon and felt my own chest tighten with sympathy. I walked to a deep hole in the beasts neck and looked into it and saw the throbbing artery that had escaped damage.

I stepped back and looked around for something sharp and pointy. It was just through luck that the dragon had landed in the middle of a large burnt out town. Maggie stood there and watched me as I took my pack off and walked over to a burnt out house, the dragon was also watching me.

Moving around the building I found a piece of broken off steel and then looked over at the dragon. Its stare moved from me to the piece of blackened steel in my hands. I silently prayed that I would have gall to do what I was about to do as I walked over to the wound in the neck.

“What are you doing Billy?” Maggie asked quietly looking at the piece of metal.

“I’m going to kill it.” I said gently.

Maggie stepped back and I looked down into the wound and raised the metal above my head. I held my breath and closed my eyes before I drove the metal into the artery, I felt the hot blood splatter up my front and onto my face and I jerked the metal far opening a gash in the vein.

I stepped back and accidentally swallowed a mouthful of blood that left a strange burning sensation down my throat and in my stomach that quickly passed. I looked at the dragon that was using the last of its strength to turn its head towards me and Maggie.

Maggie shrieked and I stood still as a tremor of sheer terror ran up my spine. I stood still with Maggie cowering behind me and waited for the dragon to swallow us up. I was about to apologise to Maggie for getting her eaten when the dragon pressed its snout against me.

I stood stunned for a moment and then raised my hand and rubbed the scale muzzle. Maggie reached passed me and touched it tentatively and then the tell tale death rattle sounded in the back of the dragons throat as it took its last breath. Its head lulled to the side and sighed sadly.

“Come on Dragon Slayer. We should get into some cover, its getting dark.” Maggie said gently.

“Your right. But do me a favour and don’t call me that. I didn’t want to do that.” I sounded sad even to my own ears.

“Why did you?”

“I had to. I couldn’t leave it like that.”

Maggie frowned at me but I ignore her and moved towards the other side of the town that wasn’t covered in dead dragon. We found a house that was only half burnt down and we went into one of the rooms that was only smoke stained. It had a large bed in it that I looked at longingly.

Maggie sat the pack down that she had carried since the dragon and I looked around the room a little as she sat down on the bed. I saw her watching me when I turned back to the bed and I felt myself blush though I was unsure why. I shook my head a little frowned at myself.

She stood up walked over to me and unbuttoned my shirt, I looked at her curiously and she shrugged and pointed out that it was covered in blood. I let her help me take it off and then I wet a spare shirt I had in my pack and washed myself down. Again when I turned back to Maggie she was watching me from the bed and I blushed again.

We spent two days in that town as we ran around scavenging things from the few houses that had little damage done to them. We found cans of food and another back pack Maggie would carry that we filled with clothes we had found.

It was two and a half weeks later and we was walking into a burnt out city and Maggie pointed out several people running along the streets towards us. I frowned a little tensed up feeling like something bad was about to happen.

The people got to us and I noticed they were all young men, they were dressed in baggy jeans and dirty shirts of different colours and sizes. I was worried and I knew Maggie was as well when her hand slid into mine for the second time since we had been travelling together.

“Looks like you just walked into the wrong neighbourhood.” One of the men said to us.

“We’re just passing through.” I looked at them calculatingly as I wondered what they would do.

“Not without payment. I bet you ladies have some food you can part with.” The same man stepped forward in an intimidating manner.

“I don’t want to part with it.” I said coldly.

“Billy maybe you should just give it to them. There's seven of them and only two of us.” Maggie muttered behind me.

“You should listen to your girlfriend.” The man was practically snarling at me now.

“I heard her, I just don’t think it’s a good idea.” I stood my ground when usually I would have just given them the food.

My own actions worried me more than the actions of the men that were all stepping closer to crowd me. I had never faced confrontation I had only ever run from it and now I was standing here squaring my shoulders to take a stand when looters threatened me.

One suddenly through a punch and I dodged it and pushed Maggie back out of the way as I did so. She fell to the ground and out of the corner of my eye I saw her backing up to get right out of the way as all the men converged on me.

I kept my feet and dodged as many blows as I could as all the men struggled to take me down. I through punches back and managed to get three of the men off of me. The other kept battering at me and I felt the blows to my face split the skin.

With a savage cry I pushed the men off me with strength I didn’t know I possessed and I stood literally growling at them and they all looked at me with fear. Maggie stood up and walked over to me and put a gently hand on my arm. I looked at her and she gasped and I assumed it was the bruises cuts on my face. I turned back to the men and they were all standing and walking away from me. I frowned a little but continued to stare at them as I was no longer growling.

When they left Maggie took my hand and we walked around the city outskirts. Neither of us spoke for a long time and then we heard a distant roar that was getting louder the longer it went on. Maggie wanted to go into the City and hide it one of the buildings but I refused and dragged her into some trees about 200 meters away.

“This is crazy we are way more exposed here.” Maggie said in an urgent but hushed tone.

“Just stay quiet. This isn’t the same dragon.” I frowned a little.

“How do you know?” Maggie asked curiously.

“Listen. You can already hear wing beats. This ones big but it isn’t as big as the last two. Its roar was to quickly followed by wing beats for it to be one of the big ones.” I explained softly as the dragon came into view.

“You’re right. This one looks a lot smaller.” Maggie was whispering now and I nodded as we watched the dragon sent a jet of fire into the streets of the city.

In the distance I could hear screams and hoarse cries and the dragon landed over the city and sent stream after stream of flame into the streets and buildings. We sat and watched for almost two hours as the dragon laid siege to the rest of the city, I sighed feeling a little sorry for the men that had been trapped within what is now a smouldering graveyard.

The dragon seemed to fool around there for some time before it took to the air and vanished in the clouds. I looked over my shoulder at Maggie and she was shaking and weeping silently. I moved over to her and wrapped my arms around her and whispered to her softly for a little while until she calmed down.

“How did you know it was going to attack the City?” Maggie asked after a while.

“I don’t know, just a feeling I guess.” I really wasn’t sure and it frightened me a little, but from the moment I heard the dragons bugle I knew its target was the city.

“And what about your eyes?” Maggie sounded accusing and I didn’t understand why, or what she was talking about.

“What about my eyes?” I was clueless.

“They changed. When you was fighting those men, they weren’t blue any more they were amber… they were like the dragon’s you killed.” Her voice hushed as she finished and she was staring at my eyes as if she was expecting them to change again.

“What colour are they now?” I asked curiously.

“They are blue like they usually are. It was when you was fighting that they were a different colour.” She explained softly.

“I accidentaly swallowed a huge mouthful of the dragons blood when it squirted all over me.” I sounded frightened.

“Maybe it has changed you some how, maybe your becoming a dragon.” Maggie sounded serious and it terrified me.

“Don’t be ridiculous. Lets go I don’t want to sleep here tonight.” I stood up and started walking, she followed suit.

We didn’t talk for several day following that at least not in regard to conversation we asked one another for water or food but Maggie seemed to be frightened of me and it really hurt my feelings.

The fact that it hurt my feelings made me really mad that what she thought bothered me so much. I warred with myself to just not be affected by it or to rage at her for treating me like some freak. I also wanted to cry.

With everything that had happened over the past few months this was all getting to be too much. I missed my parents, my town, my home. Now I had none of that, the person I had been beginning to think of as my family was frightened of me. I was cut off from the world, I could only assume that the world had seen the chaos the dragons ensued as America and Australia had.

I felt like a coward, I hated myself for leaving my parents. The only reason I hadn’t just given up is because I'm too frightened. Fear drove me to run, to abandon my parents and my brothers, my friends. Fear drove me to flea and now there was nothing left, no reason I could find as to why I was still running. Walking clear across America, for what?

Now my only travelling companion was afraid of me and wouldn’t took and I longed for conversation, I longed to let the tears falls and I longed for what we had before the men attacked me. My fury got the better of me and late afternoon a week after the men confronted us I threw my pack to the ground and sat down abruptly.

Maggie looked at me and watched as I burst into tears, I pounded the grounded furiously and clenched my teeth to the point that I thought I felt them chipping. Something sharp digging into my palms made me stop suddenly and I looked at my hands.

I was so startled I fell back with a cry and held my hands far out in front of me. My nails were now long claws and my hands were covered in dark crimson scales. My heart was pounding and Maggie was looking more terrified than ever. My fury abated and my hands started looking more like hands right before my eyes.

When the last scale was gone and the claws resembled nails again I looked up at Maggie and she was staring at my hands still. Tears trickled down my cheeks and I buried my face against my knees as I draw them up to my chest and I sat there for a long time weeping.

Eventually I must have fallen asleep because some time later I opened my eyes to a sound and found myself curled up within Maggie’s arms. Another sound startled me and I sat up. Listening I looked around but couldn’t see anything that was close to us in the dark.

It was then that I realised the sound I was hearing was a soft whimpering from an animal. I stood up and looked around before I started towards the sound. A few yards away in the middle of some bushes I found a dog.

It was a young Bernese mountain dog and it had odd eyes. One was brown the other was blue. Dog had a collar on and the collar was hooked on a thick branch. I stepped closer to the dog and it snarled at me. I frowned and talked to it gently and I moved closer and it seemed to calm down.

I got to the dog and with my dragons strength I snapped the stick and pulled it out of the dogs collar. I knelt down and petted the dog who was now excitedly licking my fingers.

“Billy?” Maggie cried out a little frantically and I jumped to my feet and with the dog following me I ran back to where we had been camped.

When I got there Maggie threw her arms around me and squeezed me hard and started sobbing and it occurred to me that I had frightened her by not being here. I wrapped my arms around her waist and held her till she was quiet.

“I’m sorry. I wouldn’t have left you Maggie.” I said softly into her ear.

“I woke up all alone. The way I have been treating you I wouldn’t have been surprised if you did leave me.” Maggie’s voice was strained as if she tried to keep from crying again.

“You haven’t been treating me anyway.” I said trying to make her feel better.

“Exactly, I haven’t even been being nice to you, I have ignored you and treating you like I'm worried you would eat me or something.”

“Yes, because apparently I am turning into a dragon. I can understand you being so afraid of me, but I wouldn’t hurt you Maggie.” I felt a soft nose poking at the pocket of my jeans.

“I know that, I was being a fool. I’m sorry, can you forgive me?” Maggie asked honestly.

“Of course. Besides I found you a friend.” I stepped back away from her and knelt down beside the dog.

Maggie knelt down and started talking to the dog and I moved over and rummaged through the pack that had the food in it and I pulled out one of the cans that we didn’t have the means to open. I looked at it as I explained where the dog came from and then she moved back over to me and sat beside me with the dog laying in front of us.

I finished explaining and then frowning I used my teeth to tear off the top of the can. Maggie was looking at me a little strangely and then she leaned over and kissed me hard on the mouth. I was a little startled and just sat there until she pulled back.

“I really am sorry.” Maggie muttered and blushed.

“That’s alright.” I muttered in response.

“I’m sorry I forgot your birthday.”

“It’s ok, I didn’t remember it either.”

“Maybe I can make it up to you?” The tone of Maggie’s voice made me look over at her.

“Maybe, though there’s not much one can do right now.” I missed what she was suggesting.

“That’s not what I meant. I meant… sexually. I mean, you have to be as tightly strung as I am…” I blushed furiously at what she said.

“I, uh, I’ve never done anything like that. Plus this week isn’t really good for me…” I was getting redder by the moment.

“You mean, you’re a virgin?”

“Yes.” My blush had gone from neck and face to full body and I was thankful for the clothes.

“You’ve really never been with anyone?”

“I didn’t know I was a lesbian until you kissed me just now.” I was still blushing.

“So I made you gay?” There was a laugh in her voice.

“No… you just made me realise I am.” I scowled.

“I see. Well do you want to get some more sleep or would you rather get moving?” The change of subject was a relief to me.

“What would you rather, you still look pretty tired.”

“I am tired, it took me a while to fall asleep once you was quiet.” She explained softly.

I laid down and she laid down beside me and put her arms around me, I rolled onto my side and she tucked herself in against my back. I smiled a little rather enjoying the feel of her arms around me.

“I’m sorry about that by the way. Everything caught up to me, my parents and my cowardice. Your distance was just the icing on the cake. It got a little too much.” I said quietly.

“Turning into a dragon couldn’t be easy to cope with either. I am really sorry for how I treated you.”

I smiled and for no real reason at all I dropped my head so I could press a tiny kiss to inside of Maggie’s wrist. I felt good, I had everything off my chest and Maggie was treating me like usual, or rather more friendly than usual. I had a dog to keep us company and I knew I could deal with what I had become.

She pressed a kiss to the back of my neck and we fell asleep not waking again until shit before dawn. The dog was laying across our legs with its head resting on Maggie’s hip. I sat up and moved behind a thick bush and did my toiletry stuff.

I found that I was no longer bleeding and it was a curious thing as my monthly cycle was usually the whole seven days and some what heavy. I had been bleeding for no more than 24 hours and now it was over. I frowned a little and finished my business before waking back into the small clearing.

Maggie then went and relieved herself while I opened a couple of cans of food both of which turned out to be baked beans. When she came back she sat down beside me and took one of the cans and started eating, I tipped some of my beans onto the ground for the dog who ate them up ravenously.

“Why’d you give that to the dog instead of eating it yourself, you usually only eat a can of food a day and now your cutting it down.” Maggie asked curiously as she tipped some more beans into her own mouth.

“Dog needs to eat too.” I shrugged nonchalantly but truth is I was ravenously hungry.

“Would you like some of mine? I eat twice a day so I don’t mind sharing.” Maggie offered and I smiled and shook my head.

“There's only so many cold beans I can eat in a day and this is about my limit. Maybe I will eat with you later.” I stood up and put the few things we had taken out of the packs back in them and handed one to Maggie.

We walked along for another week before we encountered a dragon again and this time it was something different. The dragon was small and red instead of a dark crimson almost black colour. He was swooping around a small town but he wasn’t setting anything a flame.

I frowned as we stood under cover and watched as the dragon moved. I muttered that I thought the big dragon was a brood mother and she nodded her agreement. Before I had a chance to wonder aloud how many there might be now the dog started barking at the dragon. We both cried out to the dog and grabbed it before it could run down to the dragon. I clamped my hand over its muzzle but it was too late. The dragon was diving towards us.

I ordered Maggie to run and then I moved out of the cover and into the open where the dragon could see me. It swooped down and came to a stop a few meters away from me and hissed at me. It stood about 3 feet taller than me at the shoulder.

I don’t know what made me think to do it, but I stood there quietly staring at the dragon and picturing myself in fine detail as a dragon. I didn’t feel it happen but I knew I had changed when my vision became maybe fifty times sharper. I hissed at the dragon and he started making a mewling sound at me.

He was still taller than me when I was a dragon and he moved closer to me and started nuzzling my neck. I snapped at him and rose up on my hind legs beating my wings and biting at him. He pulled back hissed at me in warning and then he lunged forward snapping at my neck.

I leapt back surprisingly agilely and took to the air with a single beat of my wings. The wonder of flying free caught me and I sweat higher into the air above the clouds. A loud bugle behind me reminded me that I was trying to get away from a dragon.

It proved rather difficult, the male was faster than I was as he was more used to flying than I was. I dodged and dived trying to get away from him and the higher we went the more futile my fight felt. I turned in the air and dived towards the earth.

Something a little shocking happened then, the male had dropped as well and caught up with me moments later. He locked his claws with mine and twisted his long tail around mine and has he bit down gently on my neck I felt something penetrate me between my hind legs.

It occurred to me that the strange sensation that was somewhat pleasant when not thinking about the teeth at my throat was the male mating me. I felt my human face frown but my dragon let out a roar that was somewhere between pleasure and intense frustration.

I watched as the ground got ever closer but the male was unrelenting in his copulating. Finally mere meters from the earth the male pulled out and let me go and I opened my wings, the wind caught them like a parachute and my descent stopped abruptly.

The male landed and seemed to wait for me and I snarled furiously and when I hissed a jet of flame shot fourth strait into his face. He seemed to scream and took to the air I took chase and after almost an hour of chasing him around I finally ran him off.

I spiralled slowly back down to earth looking for Maggie as I went and suddenly I saw her step out from some dense trees about a mile away from where the dragon had first noticed us. I flew down and landed and she watched me intently as I shuffled around before changing back into my human form.

I slumped to the ground and panted a little feeling the strain that the chase had caused on my unadjusted bodies. Maggie ran over and picked me up and I realised I was naked. My clothes had shredded when I turned dragon. Scowling I stood up and glanced around blushing a little.

“That was incredible! What was it doing, it wouldn’t let you go, I thought you would both die.” Maggie sounded excited and my scowl softened.

“It was a male and he mated me.” I blushed again.

“Aw, he stole your virginity. Sucks for me I was so looking forward to it.” She joked and I went brighter.

“You still can, he took my dragons virginity, it doesn’t count.” I grinned joking with her.

“Oh yay. Here put some clothes I don’t like staying around here.” Maggie put her pack down and got some jeans and a shirt out of it.

I pulled the clothes on and buttoned my jeans as she buttoned my shirt and then I took the food pack off her and we headed along on our way again. I was already eager to find somewhere to sleep.

We walked for another 2 hours and finally Maggie let me slump down on the ground and curl up with the dog. She got a can of food and sat down beside me, I reached over and took it off her and opened it using my teeth again, I handed it back and closed my eyes.

She sat there and ate for long time before I felt her nudge me and I sat up and took the food she had offered me. I ate it hungrily and then laid back down. She laid next to me and I snuggled into her side and she wrapped her arms around my shoulders. It didn’t take me much longer to fall asleep.

When we woke we ate and then started out again and Maggie asked me if we could stop earlier that night, I didn’t mind stopping sooner so an hour before dark we small cave and crawled into it. Maggie found a couple of cans of food while I went outside and found some thicker and taller branches that had fallen out of the tree.

I stood the taller branches against the rock around the cave hole creating a wall covering the entrance. When I was done I took some more smaller sticks and pieces of wood into the cave and arranged them in a small pile. I looked over at Maggie who was watching me with the dog and then I smiled.

“I figured we would go wash in the stream right near here. I mean how longs it been since either of us bathed. I will light a fire to get us warm again.” I said and Maggie’s face broke out in a grin.

“Your brilliant Billy.” Maggie stood up and kissed me hard and briefly and then got herself some clothes out of the pack and ran out to the stream.

I sat there while she was outside and then after a moment of thinking about getting the fire started I leaned towards the wood and breathed out hard. I was shocked when flame shot out of my mouth and ignited the wood. Frowning I reached over and put my hand in the fire and it didn’t burn me. I smiled a little and then shook my head realising I had something else to adjust too.

Maggie came in a few minutes later and sat down by the fire with her shirt unbuttoned but pulled closed. I smiled and then took some more clean clothes and our dirty clothes and went and cleaned in the stream before I put the dirty clothes in the stream and cleaned them as best I could with no soap.

I was getting dressed and realised I forgot a clean shirt scowling I gathered all the wet clothes and went back into the cave. Maggie was sitting by the fire petting the dog and I hung the few wet clothes on the branches covering the cave entrance and then turned to get my clean shirt.

Maggie was sitting holding it up and looking at me curiously, I blushed and covered my breasts with my arms as I slowly started moving over to her. She smiled and I bent down to take the shirt and she grabbed my handed and pulled hard enough that I lost my balance and hand to spread my arms out to catch myself before I landed on top of her.

She smiled still as she laid back beneath me and I couldn’t help but return the smile. She reached up and ran her hands over my face and then leaned up to kiss me, this time it was soft and lingering. I returned the kiss a little unsure and lowered myself over her, putting my weight on my elbow instead of my hands.

The kiss deepened and became more insistent and I sighed into her mouth more than once. After a little while Maggie rolled me over onto my back and moved to take my place on top. I moved my hands to her hips and she moved one of hers to my breast and I moaned softly as she kneaded it gently.

My moan seemed to egg Maggie on as she moved a little lower and covered my neglected breast with her mouth. She feathered kisses over the supple flesh and then covered the semi hard nipple with her mouth and my breath left me suddenly.

What felt like my entire bodies worth of blood was flooding to the junction of my thighs and I was wondering if it would be possible to take my pulse at my clit. Groaning under my breath Maggie continued her ministrations to my breasts and then suddenly stopped.

She looked up at me and smiled and took her own shirt off before she started with the buttons of my jeans. I watched her as she slowly worked the buttons through the holes. Once they were opened she urged me to lift my hips and then slid the jeans down my legs and off my feet.

Completely naked I now just laid there and enjoyed the feeling of Maggie suckling and nuzzling my nipples until she moved lower still, kissing a trail down my stomach. My eyes that had been closed suddenly snapped open and I propped myself up on my elbows and looked down at her.

Maggie positioned herself between my legs and looked up at me and smiled I looked at her curious and she ducked her head and without a moments hesitation found and covered my throbbing clit with her mouth. I cried out and spread my legs wider than they already had been.

Moaning softly I leaned my head back and began moving my hips a in rhythm to Maggie’s tongue lapping at my wet and aching pussy. Eventually the pressure between my legs got too much and Maggie must have known it as she pushed two fingers inside me.

I seemed to explode on the inside and the sensation was like nothing I had ever experienced. I cried out and clenched my fists and curled my toes and reached down and buried my fingers in Maggie’s hair. She stopped moving her fingers within me and leaned back to look at me and once my body was done shuddering she pulled her fingers from me.

Maggie caught my final moan with her mouth as she moved back up my body and kissed me gently on the mouth. I slumped back when she broke the kiss and rested my head on the clothes back that we had been using as a cushion. Maggie was looking down at me with something I had never seen before in her eyes.

“Your eyes go dragon when your really aroused.” She smiled when I blushed.

Instead of saying anything I just reached up and began gently caressing Maggie’s breasts. She sighed and kissed my neck and then I rolled so Maggie was beneath me. I copied what she had done to me as I didn’t really know enough about sex to go my own way.

I suckled and nuzzled her breasts and she ran her hands through my hair massaging my scalp. While I was enjoying her pert nipples I unbuttoned her jeans and slid my hand into them. I was met with a soft moan when I slid a finger into the wet slit of Maggie’s pussy.

I continued to rub her and she seemed to get more and excited the longer I went. She moved her hands from my hair and pushed her jeans over her hips and down her legs. I smiled and moved my hand away and she whimpered and I chuckled a little and moved lower. I pushed her jeans off like she had mine and then settled myself between her legs.

I started out tentatively spreading the moist folds and using the tip of my finger to rub around her clit. She started making soft almost cat sounds and it spurred me on to remove my finger and replace it with my mouth. Her sounds got louder the longer I teased her and I started to pleasure her in earnest by pushing two of my fingers deep into her.

She was louder than I was when she came and I smiled to myself when I stilled myself to let her nerves calm down. After a moment I pulled my fingers from her and after glancing at her I lifted my hand to my face and sucked the glistening wetness off my fingers.

Maggie watched me intently as I did this and I smiled when it dropped my hand again. She stared at me and I sat there a little awkwardly and traced around her belly button with my finger tip. She sat up after a few minutes and kissed my cheek gently causing me to smile.

“I love you Billy.” Maggie whispered the words but they sounded like she was shouting it at me in my mind.

“What?” It was a stupid question but I didn’t know what else to say.

“I said I love you. I mean, if one good thing could come from the chaos that is this place now is that I found you.” Maggie was smiling at me and grabbed my hand.

“How can you love me I’m a dragon?” I asked a little stupidly.

“Actually, considering you’re a dragon you have a really good temperament. How can I not love you Billy, you protect me and look after me. You had sex with a dragon so it wouldn’t eat me.” Maggie was joking and it made me smile.

“Don’t remind me. You know, I love you too Maggie. It just sucks to me that we met under these circumstances.” I gave her a little lopsided smile.

“I don’t think so. If this hadn’t happened you would still be in Australia, I would still be here working 9-5. Plus the events made us closer. It had to happen like this.” She was smiling warmly.

“You have a strange way of making bad things seem good. I enjoyed what we just did. Would you like to stay here?” I tilted my head and looked at her eyes searching the emeralds for honesty.

“As in right here? As in live?” Maggie’s eyes widened a little and she looked around the cave.

“Yeah, I mean, we can keep it hidden, its comfortable and I think we would be safe from dragons here. I mean we don’t have to if you don’t want to but, I kind of like it here.” I shrugged a little and was mildly afraid she would want to leave.

“I am certainly done with walking. But what will we do about food? And clothes? And bedding?”

“Hey, I'm a dragon remember, I can probably work something out regarding all of that.” I chuckled a little.

“Well yes I would like to stay here. My bones are weary and hey we have memories to make here.” Maggie smiled and kissed me softly.
