Johanna stared out the window of her jeep wondering to herself, “What the hell am I getting myself into?” There
she was 24 years old driving down the Jersey Shore to see an old friend who she hasn’t seen in a good 2 years now.
“Do I even consider her a friend?” she wondered out loud to her best friend and companion, Sam. With a loud “Gruff”
Sam answered.
“That’s exactly what I thought”, she chuckled tossing her long brown hair out of her face. She was on her way to
see Alexandra Mallory, who is supposed to get married within the next week. Jo had known Alex since she was about
thirteen but they weren’t “friends” back then. That was because of the simple fact Alex or Ms. Mallory was fourteen
years older than Jo and was Jo’s 7th and 8th grade teacher, yes teacher.
Alex was Jo’s first crush, the person who helped her realize who she was or rather is. But that didn’t happen until
the middle of 8th grade. Jo and Alex had grown close beyond the teacher/student type thing. Ms. Mallory was like
a friend mixed with the type of sternness only an adult can possess. But when Ms. Mallory would give Jo hugs, Jo
would melt. She knew this love will forever be unrequited but she thought with time she will out grow it. Their
relationship won’t ever lead to anything other than a friendly hug. After eighth grade graduation they kept in
touch through email and occasionally on the phone. Alex was also there for Jo’s high school and college graduations.
Though lately the have been only acquaintances Jo still loved Alex.
They haven’t seen each other since Alex met Tom two years ago and she was marrying him. Though Jo had many relationships
with other women, she had never felt the love she had for Alex for any of them.
“Ok, Sam I don’t think I can face her know she is going to marry the bastard” she said pulling in the driveway
of Alex’s house.
“Grrrrruff”
‘I know, I know, it’s now or never.”
KNOCK KNOCK
Within seconds the locks were unlocked and the door was pulled open.
“JO!”Alex exclaimed.
Jo stood there and smiled “God she still looks the same her creamy skin, her deep brown eyes. I could drown in
those eyes”, she thought to herself.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a huge embrace and the words, “It’s great to see you, I’ve missed you so much!”
“She’s so soft I love when she hugs me! If only more than a hug just once then I could die a happy woman. My god
she smells like the beach and sunshine! Well if you could smell sunshine of course, I don’t know.” Again she was
snapped back to reality but this time with and invitation to go in side.
“So where is Tom?”
“He’s put with some of his friends.”
“Mmmmm”
“So have you been, girly?”
“I’ve been good. Sam and I love our new apartment on the Lower East Side. Don’t we pal?”Jo said as she scratched
Sam’s fluffy head.
“Any new ya know girlfriends?” Alex asked with a slight hint of jealousy.
“Ummm, not lately but I’ve has a few flings if you know what I mean”, she replied as she playfully wiggled her
eyebrows.
“Gotcha”, Alex chuckled.
Then without a moments notice Jo realized Al was getting married next week, she would never be hers. She wanted
to tell how she felt. Even though is wouldn’t have made a difference and she can lose a friend. In her heart though
she knew she needed to say it. After hours of getting reacquainted they decided to take a walk along the beach
which was practically Al’s backyard.
“So are you ready to get married?” Jo questioned in a serious tone. (This is a rarity when it came to her.)
“I really don’t know”, Al replied with a sheepish grin.
Just then Jo stopped walking and threw a stick for Sam to go fetch. Alex gave her a quizzical look and stopped
walking.
“Look there is something I’ve been meaning to tell you for a couple of years…um…ummm…this is hard. I don’t know
how to say it.” Her mouth went suddenly dry. “Then don’t say anything and kiss me. “
Jo froze was she imagining this?! This couldn’t be. Alex inched closer to the younger woman. Their mouths and inch
apart as the sun set behind them. With the lick of her lips Jo closed the gap between them by pressing her lips
to Alex’s. The kiss started soft and gentle, and then grew with passion fast. After what seemed like an eternity,
but was really minutes, they broke the kiss.
“But Tom”, Jo whispered.
“Shhh”, with that Alex kissed her again but this time with force. Jo intertwined her fingers in the dark blond
hair of the older woman. Lips were licked, kissed and even nibbled, while tongues danced together while tasting
mouths. All right there on the beach in the South of Jersey.
When they finally went inside the passion was ignited and the made love for hours on end.

The sun shone threw the window the next morning and woke Johanna. She was scared when she realized the place
she was in and remembered what happened the night before. She looked over at the body breathing deeply next to
her. She admired the wavy blond hair cascading on the pillow. The light silk skin of her face, neck, shoulders
and her delicious breasts with topped with pink nipples. She loved the way Alex looked, so peaceful, so perfect.
Her curvy body, she remembered how her own felt against that one. The way her dark tanned skin looked against Alex’s
paler skin. It made Jo wet with desire just thinking how their two bodies became one.
“Stop staring its not polite.” Al stated more than a little groggy.
“Sorry its just you are gorgeous, always have been.”
“Mmmm I like the sound of that” she cooed as Jo playfully slapped her shoulder and kissed her lips.
Breaking the kiss Al questioned, “Where do we go from here?”
“I don’t know but I love you.”
“I love you too!”
“You have to call off your wedding…if that’s what you want.”
“No I don’t.”
“What do you mean?” Jo asked nervously. She knew Alex loved her but was enough to be WITH her?
“Tom left me because I told him I was in love with someone else. Always have been and always will be. I love you
Jo!”
“I love you too, with all my heart.”
