Broken

She sits alone, thinking, praying, hoping. How did her life come to be like this? So full of confusion, hurt; the strong feeling of total anguish a regular visitor overtaking her body, her soul, causing hot tears to flow, trembling lips. Had she said too many things? Not enough things? Were the words ‘ I love you’ not enough to give hope to a dying romance?

Like a moment in time, she had it. She had her, lost in a deep, loving embrace; caught in the throes of passion beneath soft white sheets; she wonders, will she ever dance again? Will she ever dance with her again?

Lost in green eyes, soft lips, beauty, she lost herself. Flying for one fleeting moment; like leaping off a cliff, trying to spread her wings and flies; but she is only human, she fell. A fleeting moment, caught in thoughts, words, and soft kisses, now through the tears of a hard good-bye, she wonders, Was that it? Is that really the end of this love?

Deleted pictures, burnt paper, anger, confusion, sadness; she knows she has no regrets, never did and never will, and she hopes in time, they will find a balance again. A fleeting moment, caught in a fairy tale romance. They lost it; they lost their love.

So called ‘friends’ speaking the so called ‘truth’ held that future, her love, within their grasp, only seeing themselves, they selfishly threw her into the fire pit of despair. Alone, sad, scared, hurt, bleeding, she stood wind blowing, rain pouring; tears of grief drown the night air. She wonders if the other feels the same, as broken as her soul inside.

This is where she stood, holding on to the dust of love gone past, faded memories good and bad, burnt paper and deleted pictures, this is where she let it go, she let her go. The dust flying away in the cold and wet wind, falling to her knees, she knew in time, her deep wounds would heal, but for the moment, all she wanted to do was sit and let tears of grief stain her face, as she looked into the night sky. She let her heart go.
