Perceptions

Out of the corner of my eye I see her as I'm finishing a quick sandwich and cup of coffee. She's staring at me. My first instinct is to dab at my mouth with my napkin. I self-consciously glance again and she is still staring.

I turn my eyes back to my meal, but a force I can't seem to control compels me to look in her direction again. I try to fight the feeling, but find my eyes seeking her out.

I notice her short dark hair with bangs falling just above her eyebrows. Her longish looking nose suits her high cheekbones. Her lips are full and drawn up into a bow.

My eyes meet hers and I briefly close mine. I am lost as though I'm outside my own body watching myself be swept into a beautiful fantasy. Her eyes stay locked with mine as I sense her tender warmth and need. She moves closer until I can feel her soft sweet breath on mine. My lips slightly part.

I open my eyes just in time to see her walking towards the door. She stops suddenly and turns on her heel. Her eyes once again meet mine. I see the question in those beautiful eyes. I quickly throw some bills on the table and follow her out of the door.

THE END
