Artemis

Queen of huntresses
Queen of night
Guardian of wilderness
And starry sky
You face the darkness
Of unlightened night
Half shadow
Half light
You're the maiden of Duality
And you seek for light
For remembrance
You're a mother
Seeking for her children
Showing them their path
Through darkness, bringing them light
Listen to the wolves Amazons
They're your brothers
Howling to the moon
They'll guide you to your mother

Look at the stars Amazons
They're your family
Sisters from a glorious era
Calling us for remembrance
They protect us in our quest
And honor our mother in the sky
They are also animals
Honoring the guardian of wilderness
And showing light to those who show respect
For all Artemis creation
And pay attention
To all elements and life
And decipher nature's mysteries

Amazon Legacy

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, August 2001

I listened to the thunder in loneliness
Each sound was a call for my homesick soul
A loud drumbeat guiding me home
Calling the Great Mother in a ceremony
Or the warriors for battle
I saw rain falling
Like the tears of the Goddess
Like the blood flowing from my broken heart
Mourning my Sisters slain in battle
Calling the Spirits for us of the living
Fist to heart I pray under the rain
And my fierce cry elevates to the sky as a suppliance:
"Great Mother, please help us!
You who faces darkness!
Light confronting the Twilight!
It's not our Twilight dear Mother, not now
Help us to arise and regild our legacy, so our sisters
wouldn't have died in vain
To rebuild our Nation
I promise that our legacy willn't be lost
That I'll transmit it with pride to the next
generations
That I'll fight to keep it alive!"

I'm daughter of the Moon
And darkness can't defeat me!
And the weather calms down
I look at the river
Flowing in a tumultuous cascade, whirling
Seeking to pour itself in the ocean
I come from the halls of Time
Seeking for my lost village
To rebuild my Nation and be a proud Daughter of the
Moon
And like the Time
Nothing can stop me in my furious run
Through immortality

Reconciliation

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, October 2001

O Ares, God of War
Lord of the Sword and the Shield
Both destroyer and protector
Both darkness and light
I don't know which side you are following
I don't know why I'm dear to you
Why do you love me, a simple mortal
As the peaceful Aphrodite
Who was your opposite
You're both near and far to me
There's both light and shadow in you
And I don't know if your sword is the one of justice
or destruction
I would like to know you more
And to remove that fright in me
The fright of falling on the dark side again
I'm a warrior and proud of my Nation
But I don't know if wars are good or evil, or both
Are they necessary...
As we can't erase death from ours,Mortals, destiny
Are we born to fight and die?
Life is a combat, and I ever took it as a battle
Maybe I'm nearer of you than I think
I'm an Amazon, a daughter of the Moon
Fair light between shadows, as my mother
But I'm stronger than I look at first view
Daughter of the Maiden of the Silver Bow

O Ares!Lord of the Sword and Shield
If a warrior path can be the one of Light
Destroy the Forces of Darkness and protect the
innocent
Free them from the oppression from dark leaders as the
Taliban
And from rapacious birds who are stealing even the
essence of ourselves
Help us to be free together!
And may this war send to a lasting peace!
To an era where each man and woman will be equal
Where we could live in community, helping each other
Rather than thinking only of ourselves
Where we'll be free and life in peace together
As one race
The human race
And I dream of a land where my people could live in
peace and free
You're both warrior and farmer
Maybe your path is mine
And light in yourself is shining, like wheat in the
fields
As you protect life and give birth glory to you
And I'm sorry to have considerate you as dark for so
long
And I drink the paz to our reconciliation
O Ares! My father!
Lord of the Sword and the Shield
Take me and sweep me in your warrior dance
As it's my destiny

Lysippe's Memories

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, November 2001

I rebuilt my life by erecting a Nation
Quitting my river of tears for the shore of the
Thermodon
Where I erected the city of justice, Themiskyra
Artemis gave me the strength I needed
To don't give up after the tragedies that affected my
life
Phantoms of the past, I remember you
Tanais, I will never forget you
But my place is in the world of the living
Where my Mother Goddess charged me of a mission
Tanais, my son, my love, I'm a broken mother
And I'm seeking a sense to my painful life
I lost you and I lost my homeland
That had been destroyed by the wrath of the Gods
And I fled, escaping myself from shadows
Artemis, I don't know where I am
But in your honor, that land is mine
And I'm erecting on it a city, as great as your glory
Where justice will reign
Themiskyra
Justice...I devoted my life to that ideal
Recodifying our Ancient laws, creating a new Code of
Honor
I devoted my life to justice and to my Nation
And to you Great Mother, who gave me the courage to
find a new sense to my life
To accomplish the Quest you gave me
I'm an Amazon, and I claim it with pride
And I'm a mother and not less proud of it
I loved my son, with all motherly love
Ri, I loved my son, I'll ever love him, and I'm not
less an Amazon!
Ri, I'm an Amazon, and I'm not less a mother!
Ri, I had a male child and raised him and I'm not less
Amazon
I've enough of prejudices!
But they no more affect me
Their authors, filled with contempt
Spat on a broken mother and soiled her son's memory
But I'm ignoring them, as they're in error
Unfortunately, they'll rule the world with their
mistakes
But remember this: Themiskyra will never die!
A world of justice will rise, as people will see the
truth
My people! My Amazons!Never doubt in yourselves!
May your shields defend you from prejudices!
May you'll ever be true to your hearts and values!
If you are,it's the sign that I succeeded my mission
And that my ideal of justice willn't die
THEMISKYRA WILL LIVE AGAIN!

Advance of the "civilization"

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, February 2002

Oh progress!
So much destruction made in your name
Forests destroyed
Animals fleeing
Species endangered
Water poisoned
Tribes expropriated
Is that the advance of civilization, is that progress?
Or a world returning to the Dark Ages
When do we all learn to live in harmony...
Oh Gaia, mourning mother
How many of your children will die
Before humanity will see your wisdom and respect your
creation
Before harmony will come
Before we'll all be sisters and brothers
And make the world advance to Light

Rose of the Sun

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, July 2002

My soulmate, my light, my rose of the sun
Where are you, O my impossible love
I was living in darkness until you came
As the light of the Moon in my starless night
A balm on my old wounds
A true friend, a confident, my love
With you I discovered the purest love
Elixir that kept me alive
Ambrosia of the gods
For me you’re a Goddess
The Goddess of my heart
Even if you dismissed that truth

If you want to erase me from your life
I accept it, even though the pain is large
As I respect your choices and that harsh reality
I’m a woman to women and you’re a woman to men
But I can’t erase you from my memories
And my heart is like a besieged tower
Burning to ashes under a roaring fire
You’ll ever stay in my heart, my soulmate, my rose of the sun
Deeply encrypted as the Ancient’s lore

Purification

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, July 2002

Seeking for peace in the Dark Ages
While my soul is off balance
Seeing all those tragedies happening in the world
All those battles for ideologies and fatherland
All those crimson rivers flowing for the male Gods sake
God, Allah, Yahve … I think
Could they realize God has many faces as the Goddess
Love each other rather than destroying the world
In that war for power and supremacy
That took so many innocent lives
Our Earth Mother is covered by crimson tides
The lifeless bodies of so many of her children
Sacrificed for illusions
And need to be purified
Cleaned of all those corpses
And all those torments
Needing to return to her initial balance
Could we just love each other as sisters and brothers
Accept our differences and respect our mother
Rather than making her the victim
Of that war for power and supremacy
Which is just the product of petty illusions

Balance

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, July 2002

Looking at the Moon
Thinking of the Amazon emergence
I observed her, deeply, attentively
All the signs drawn like on an Hellenistic amphora
Artemis slaying a deer with her silver bow
Seeing her move as she was releasing the arrow
Amazons galloping on black stallions
In a thunder of dust and hooves
The day of our emergence is written in the sky
Despite that so many dismiss it
We’ll be free again
If we first find back the balance of our souls
We’ll find our promised land
Where we could live together and finally in peace
And restore the balance in our world in turmoil

Kassandra of Ilios

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, August 2002

Beloved Ilios
My heart aches
When I remember your walls destroyed
And the Acheean’s fury
I ask myself:
“Kassandra, why nobody believed you
And your visions of apocalypse”
Poseidon’s wrath cursed my great city of Ilios
And I’m waiting, to die, to live, I don’t know…
Even the Great Apollo forgot my sake
And I wait Hades to take me too
And free myself from my pain
By the labrys of Klytemnestra

So many already died
My father, mother and heroic brothers
And the brave Penthesileia, Queen of the Amazons
All frozen in the coolness of death
And I’m waiting for my fate, in Agamemnon’s house
To free myself from my terrible burden
Walls of fire, corpses and ashes
It’s only that the Acheeans offered as gift to our Gods
A mighty horse bringing death and destruction
Anathema on my beloved Ilios

If only my visions hadn’t been dismissed…
I’m feeling so weak, so powerless in face of the Gods wrath
In face of my own people’s distrust
Now I’m just a slave of those Acheean bandits
They can take my life, I don’t care
But may the Gods return themselves against Mykenae

Penthesileia, I fear for your people
And may Artemis’ twin brother protect your nation
From patriarchal hordes wanting to invade Amazonia
If only I could reach your lands!
But I’m only a slave, waiting for death
Cursed by the Gods, waiting Hades to take me
I wanted to be Daughter of the Moon
My sake had been to serve Apollo
And he forgot me, and didn’t saved my city from Poseidon’s wrath

Penthesileia, your murder is avenged
But there’s no more hope for us
Hope died with your death
And the one of Paris, my beloved brother
Amazonia will have to fight, more than ever
I see anathema…
Barbarian tribes will emerge as an Empire
Destined to be Masters of the World
Peace will come between Amazonia and the Hellenes
When they’ll have to fight that common enemy
May the Goddess protect you from the Quirites
And I hope that death will end my painful visions

Sacaea

Copyright © by Amarice Daphnaika, December 2002

Nature is sleeping under a white blanket
The sun is dreaming under the black pillow of the night
The Moon is shining, queen of Winter
When the night came to her peak of length
It’s Sacaea, where light will rebirth
Where darkness will slowly give more place to the light
Sacaea, announcing
The beginning of the Cycle of Rebirth
Where the sun rebirths
To heat the world
Soon will come the Festival of Anthesteria
Where the flowers will bloom
The nature is sleeping, but slowly awakening
My heart wide open, I welcome the sun
On this Solstice day
While dreaming of Anthesteria
The Festival of Flowers, consecrated to Dionysos
Of celebrating the rebirth of Nature with my Muse
Crowned with blooming crocus and hyacinths
Walking hand by hand through an arch of flowers
Our love passing through the door of eternity
Of light, the Daughter of Resurrection has shown me the way
