Candlelight

Copyright © by Courtney Lee Baum, June 13, 2001

The candlelight flickers upon my paper.
Guiding my words as they flow.
Following my sentences as they taper.
Showering my writing in a warm glow.

The candlelight flickers upon my soul.
Guiding me to my hearts desire.
Following me as I reach my goal.
Showering me with passions fire.

The candlelight flickers upon my lover.
Guiding her to me with care.
Following her quietly as it hovers.
Showering with my love so rare.

The candlelight flicker upon the two of us.
Guiding us along the path of life.
Following us with little fuss.
Showering us with protection from strife.

God's Creation

God creates new love everyday.
He then puts it in two peoples hands and watches it grow.
Watches it grow from the seed planted in each of their minds.
To the everlasting love shared between two people who are meant to be together forever.
God only plants this seed when he truly believes that it will last.
But he will also test the couple's love for one another.
A test such as distance.
Having one lover live away from the other.
For if they can handle the separation,
They can handle anything.
For separation, is the hardest thing a couple can go through.
Not being able to feel one another's touch.
Not being able to taste one another's sweet kiss.
Not being able to look into one another's eyes.
That is a true test of God's creation.
And a love that can surpass this test will last for all Eternity.

Guiding Angel

My soul dances upon the wind with the help of butterflies' wings.
My dreams twist in and out of the Moonbeams in the night sky.
I lose my mind in the twinkling of the stars above.
My body lies in the sands of time, waiting for my return.
I lose my senses in the eyes of love.
And as I return to myself, everything becomes clear.
My heart begins to pound as I stare down fates path.
I pray that there will be someone to walk it with me.
As I turn away from the path, my name is called.
I cannot see who it is or what they look like.
The silhouette becomes clearer as I begin to walk down the path.
A hand reaches fro me and pulls me further along.
I feel completely calm and unfearing.
My body is full of warmth.
My hand is grasped tighter and tighter by the unknown being.
I finally catch a glimpse of them.
The being is a beautiful Angel with long, flowing, red hair.
Eyes of Emerald green, that allows her soul to be seen.
And as we travel down the path together she tells me...
"Do not fear, for I am always near.
All you have to do is reach for my hand and I will guide you".
Everyone has a Guiding Angel to help lead him or her through life.

ENTWINED

To: Danielle Marie
"To Believe is Divine"

The gateway to someone's soul is through her eyes.
To see whom a person truly is, you must look through this gate.
Allowing your own soul to enter with hers.
But never walk to far, for if you do...
Your soul will become one with hers.
And to walk with her for the rest of your life, may be what you want,
But it only truly works when she is your true love.
And when this happens, your two hearts will become entwined.
You walking with her and her walking with you...
FOREVER.

Never-Ending Beginning

Dedicated to the Extinguished Light of Stephen Kaufmann

Life begins, but never ends.
It only takes different paths.
Paths that lead to success.
Paths that follow your hopes and dreams.
Trails through unknown territories.
Trails that take you up and down the mountain of life.
Roads to your heart, family, friends and new acquaintances.
Smooth and bumpy roads, that make life interesting.
Rivers that flow with love.
Streams full of caring.
Oceans of friendship.
Seas of welcoming hearts.
Clouds full of new chances in life.
Life never ends, for it runs in continuous circles.
When one light goes out, another burns as bright as day.
Life is always remembered, even when the inevitable end comes.

Swept Away

Copyright © by Courtney Lee Baum, October 17, 2001

Dedicated to all the angels in this world who have touched my life and taught me to live.

I have been swept away by the love of many people.
A love so pure, that it has pulled me from a world of depression and hatred.
Its pureness pierces my soul and carries me through life.
My tears of pain are swept away by gentle caresses of their caring hearts.
I am warmed by their loving hugs, even though they are far from me.
The joy they bring to my life is far greater than any joy I have ever known.
A joy that has swept away my sorrows.
Even my fears have been swept away by the light that they each shine upon me.
Because of all these loving people, I no longer live my life in the shadows.
They have brought me into the light and have shown me the way.
The love I receive from them everyday, encourages me to live my life as who I am.
It has taught me to be true to myself no matter what happens in life.
I have been swept away by the love of many people.
