Maybe just maybe

She kissed me.
Ok, kissed is an understatement.
She rocked my world.
Yeah it was just a little peck on my cheek.
I mean I barely felt her lips
but what I felt was amazing.
It’s not like it’s my first time.
I’ve kissed other girls before.
She’s just special.
I know that she doesn’t like me in that way
but to think that her body was that close to mine
almost makes up for it.
Maybe it’ll be easier to pretend
that she actually loves me.
I’m good at pretending.
It’s how I get through most of my day.
I pretend to have friends.
I pretend to be successful.
I pretend that people love me.
I even pretend that I love me.
Some days it all feels so real.
It gets hard to separate the fantasy from reality.
People call me a liar when I get the two mixed up
But in my mind
I swear it’s real.
Maybe Just maybe this kiss isn’t real either.
Maybe just maybe
I’ve crossed the point of no return.
I’m insane.
Trapped in some fantasy world.
If that’s true…
So what.
She kissed me.
Even my fantasies have never been this good.
