A Declaration

In my mind's eye
I see your face.
Smiling and loving
Beautiful and bright.

I hear your voice
Like a lovely song.
Your laughter
Like chimes in the breeze.

I think to myself
My luck has changed.
Because, she says
She loves me!

This fact
Takes my breath away.
The implications
Are overwhelming.

The unexpected ways
In which you touch me
Leaves me breathless
Weak-kneed and wondering.

Wondering, does she feel it?
Is it the same for her?
Hoping against hope
That it is...

My feelings for you
Are so intense.
I am frightened
By my own emotions.

I could easily
Lose myself in you.
Body in body
Soul in soul...

I am in awe of the power
You hold over me.
I am willingly yours
To do with what you please.

I will be with you
And I will love you
For as long
As you wish.

And if you decide
You do not want me anymore.
Just say the word
And I will disappear.

But, know this, sweet.
And nothing
Will ever
Change this fact...

As long as I live
No matter what
I will always..ALWAYS
Be in love with you.

My love
My Lady
My life.

Life's Passages

Copyright © by EarthMother, September 22, 1997

My life has come to a crossroad.
And I hesitate...
The path is oblique.
I am not sure which road to take.

As I mull over the choices
And sift through the memories
This thought strikes me...
Has it really been worth it?

The pain of birth, of living.
Growing through the different stages.
Experiencing life.
Learning about love.

Searching for the answers
To unasked questions.
Unasked because...
The questions are unknown.

I meander through my life
Choosing the side roads.
Hoping to find the shortcut
To my salvation.

For the main road
Is fraught with perils.
To be avoided...
At all costs.

Drifting through every day.
Wandering, wondering...
Is this it?
Is this what it's all about?

Someday, I know
I will discover that trail.
And it will lead me
To my chosen destination.

And when I finally reach it
The joy will be immeasurable.
My existence fulfilled.
The meaning will become clear.

But, isn't it sad...
That life
Has to end
To have any real meaning at all?

The Sun and the Earth

Copyright © by EarthMother, September 12, 1997

As dawn comes
I glance to the east
The sun slides slowly over the horizon
It burns fiery and bright.

As I watch, mesmerized by its beauty
It grows larger and larger
Filling me with its blinding light
So intense my eyes ache.

I willingly immerse myself in its brilliance
I wantonly absorb its warmth
I desperately envelop its gentleness
And look with wonderment into its face.

To see my own self gazing back
A reflection...
Of my very soul
In your knowing eyes.

Oh, how you overwhelm me
You are my Sun
I am your Earth
Together in harmony...
Forever.

What You Do for Me

Copyright © by EarthMother, September 7, 1997

What you do for me...
Cannot be expressed
In mere words.
You make me feel alive again.

After so long
In the dark...
I see your light
Shining brightly.

Where before there was a void
Now is full...
Of life. Of love. Of promise.
A promise of a different way.

A new trail
To travel.
A better...
Less painful road.

What did I ever do
To deserve you?
I think...
I will never know.

I will dedicate
My lifetime
Striving...
For your happiness.

It is the very least
I can do
For what
You do for me.

Separation

Copyright © by EarthMother, September 27, 1997

The day came to pass
That day we were parted.
I was not prepared
Could not be consoled.

Torn away
With no warning.
Separated from you
With no way back.

To discover you
After so long searching.
To lose you
In so short a time.

Ripped from you.
A part of myself
Out of reach.
I am incomplete.

My emotions in turmoil
My mind in a fog.
I know in my heart
You feel the same.

The yearning
The wondering
The longing
The concern.

I dream of the time
We will again meet.
I relish the thought
It keeps me sane.

Until then, my love
I will think of you.
Every hour,
Every day.

Do You Understand Now?

Copyright © by EarthMother, September 28, 1997

As I sit and contemplate
My life and times
My thoughts drift back
To my childhood.

I do not think of it often
The memories are not pleasant
And I strive
Not to dwell on it.

It was a grim time
A frightening time
Of sadness
Of hopelessness.

Trapped in a body
Too small to defend
Too young to understand
Too battered to care.

It seemed to last an eternity
With no end in sight
Although I prayed for relief
None ever came.

I felt abandoned
Outcast and alone
Helpless and worthless
I wanted to die.

But finally, I grew up
The nightmare was over
My life was my own
I had control at last.

Control over my destiny
Free to choose
Unafraid to feel
Truly alive.

Control is important
To my peace of mind.
If stripped of it
I am catapulted back

To that time in my life
I never, ever
Want to experience
Again...

The In Between

Copyright © by EarthMother, October 1, 1997

Born to this era.
No choice in the matter.
Compelled to live
With uncountable souls.

Immersed in an ocean
Of humanity passing
Through our existence
Sharing our thoughts.

Thoughts that spin
Round and round
In our minds
Never still.

Whirling, twirling
In constant motion.
Striving to understand
The way of things.

The events that occur
During the passage of time
That shape the lives
Of us all.

>From the day
We are born
Until the day we die
We face the unknown.

In the space in between
With a future to form
We struggle to be...
And to contend with being.

We grow
We learn
We love
We need.

An all consuming need
To belong
To mean something
To each other.

The purpose...
The concept of life?
No one really knows
We just endure it.

And together
We seek the answers
To the questions we ask.
Together...

The Sharing

I will give
To you
All that I have.
This I choose freely.

I will take
>From you
Whatever you wish
To grant.

I am drawn
To you
Without
Conscience thought.

I crave
Your company
Your...
Nearness.

You fulfill
A need
Deep down
Inside.

A desire
I do not
Yet
Fully comprehend.

I don't dwell on it.
I don't agonize over it.
I simply
Accept it.

And move on
To the feelings
I do
Understand.

Emotions
That I
Feel
For you.

Some can be
Expressed with words.
The others...
Cannot.

Your warmth
Surrounds me.
It's a blanket
For my soul.

Your radiance
And wit
Fills me up
With delight.

Your intelligence
I revere.
Your directness
I adore.

Your honesty
I respect.
Your testiness
I find endearing.

When you are happy
I am jubilant.
When you are sad
I am forlorn.

You push me
To the brink
Of passion...
Then pull me back again.

You tease me
Unrelentingly.
I am helpless
To contend.

The affection
That I feel
For you
Cannot be denied.

At times
So overpowering
To the point
I can't perceive.

I drown in you
With wild abandon.
I savor it...
An incredible sensation.

We are so connected, love.
Between us such a bond.
So strong
It can't be broken.

I am
Yours.
You are
Mine.

Utterly Sexual

Copyright © by EarthMother, October 16, 1997

Passionate desire
Fire way down deep
The sexual flame
Burns white-hot

It melts the resolve
Coherence is lost
And savage lust
Claims the senses

Delicious arousal
Creeps up the stomach
Enveloping the body
In erotic embrace

Savory anticipation
The heat of flesh so near
Sensations of pinpricks
Satin under fingertips

Tingling electricity
As skin brushes skin
The glorious thrill
Of two bodies joined

The pressure of willing lips
At first so tenderly
Growing more insistent
The hunger mounting

Mouths pressed together
Tongues dance a duet
The forms dissolve
And souls intertwine

Nipples excited
Hard and erect
Invitation to suckle
Helpless to resist

Hands gently wander
Lazy exploration
Discovering the niche
Of silky delight

The delicate ringlets
The feverish folds
The velvety moistness
The heart of the matter

Tongue trailing downward
Relishing the surface
Intent on capturing
The sweet center

The muscles quiver
The core smolders
The scent entices
The taste enraptures

Plunging inside...
Tantalizing essence
Juices flowing...
The tension mounts

The body shudders
The throbbing pulse
Explodes within
Euphoria...

The waves of ecstasy
Buffet body and mind
Volcanic eruption
Perpetual bliss...

Lovingly sampling
The liquid of love
Sweet nectar
Of the soul...

Side by side
Tenderly enfolded
Enjoying each other
In the warm afterglow...

Tapestry

Copyright © by EarthMother, October 25, 1997

The tapestry of life
Begins at birth
The first breath
Sets the pattern.

It starts very small
And grows each day
Just the way
That we do.

The deeds we do
The choices we make
Define the shape
And the texture.

The family we have
The people we meet
Affect the face
Of the design.

The intricate threads
Woven with care
Display the tableau
Of our lives.

The myriad fibers
A rainbow of colors
From dark to light
All shades in between

Illustrate our being
Our senses and emotions
Our loves and our hates
Our own true selves.

They shimmer and glitter
An iridescent wonder
A radiant monument
To the soul within.

And, when it's completed
A vivid array
A marvelous depiction
The opus of life.

It brilliantly blazes
For only a moment
And then, it unravels
The time for a rest...

When one comes undone
Another begins.
The everlasting cycle
Of life.
