Her Unrequited Love

Copyright © by Foreigner, June 29, 2005

You promised me a million things,

To take care of my heart..

I stand in dark right here tonight..

You lied, right from the start..

I gave you everything in me..

My love; my heart; my breast;

My reticence, I soused for you,

And you put me through the test..

I fell prey to your treason,

You demonic games of slander..

I am now a lifeless fool,

And aimlessly I wander..

Look at me; I have nothing

For I gave my life to you..

And yet I am here, so alone

While to him, you're sworn true..

My tears drown a handkerchief

Of white and silken gray..

You lie with him, so clad in white

And I am led astray..

My life was you, my thoughts were you

But you were you all for him..

You lied to me; blindfolded me

And left me for a whim..

I, Woman, was a but a caprice for you..

A little fool; the brunt of your game..

Enjoyment, then destroy; I'm a victim of your disdain

Set me aside, after the fun, all for your own gain..

My silent love never dies, for what I gave was always true,

And whether you lied to me or not,

Don't you forget, malicious woman

I will always be ready to give my life for you.
