Being Different

Copyright © by Julie Blue, June 25, 2001

Being different is not a sin.
But the world is cruel to those who don’t fit in.

If the truth is spoken, Fag, Dyke, Queer, you are not wanted here.

Emptiness, Darkness, Despair, Life just isn’t fair.
I need someone like me. Where can she be?

Are there rules you must follow? My life has been kind of hollow.

There is someone for everyone, or so I have been told.
Then why am I still out in the cold?

Why am I so different? Surely somewhere there is someone who cares.
My friends are wrapped up in each other and not willing to share.

What is the secret? This mystery of love?

How do you connect with someone? It should be so simple.
But I had no luck, so I gave up, just settled on being alone.

But Fate has a twisted sense of humor.

Could it be? This beautiful woman was looking right at me!

Her blonde hair shone in the sun and we spent the day just having fun.

She had a rainbow tattoo on the soft curve of her breast. I think you can guess the rest.

We bared our souls, and became lovers.
If you want to find happiness, you must look within.

I have been blessed. No one knows how it will end.
But I will always love you, my best friend.

MYSTICAL VALLEY

Copyright © by Julie Blue, May, 2002

This valley is shrouded in fog...there is a mystery to this place.
Dreams are made here...the spirits dwell within.
The moon is full...a harvest moon...huge and orange.
A wolf calls...its howl echoes throughout the valley.

A tiger steps out of the shadows.... sleek and wild.
Her amber eyes glow in the darkness...seeking her prey
She is the queen of the valley and is unafraid.

The wolf and tiger meet and slowly circle one another.
Warily they come closer.
Electric currents fill the air.
A flash of golden lightening hits the ground.
The wolf and tiger stand and are transformed.
When the rainbow colored smoke lifts,
Two women gaze at each other.

There is no need to speak; their eyes say it all.
The want, the hunger, the loneliness is at an end.
They touch, they feel, they caress, and they kiss.
Their bodies mingle in a moment of fiery lust.
Passion burns brightly and clears away the fog.

Their love cries fill the night air.
Oh it was truly a special moment.
They shared a love that could not be denied.
True it was short and brief.
In a clap of thunder it was over.

The wolf left the valley and continued wandering.
The tigress went back to her lair.
Their paths may never cross again.
But the wonder and mystery of their meeting...
Will never be forgotten.

Dedicated to Penny
