Destiny

Her eyes, the color of a lake at witching hour..

Her lips vermilion red....

Her breath hot, like steam rising from my body...

Her body, wrapped in swaths of white silk...

She came to me on a dream of mists and shadows...

Beckoning, come and receive

This love,

This passion,

This fire.

Silk scarves trailing, lips moving, eyes inviting,

I ache for her arms, to enfold me closely,

I ache for her body to warm me, burn me..

I ache for her hands to caress me...

Her eyes the color of midnight, her lips rose petal red...

I go to her to receive, her passion, her fire, her love....

consummation

wheat blowing lazily on the arid air...
she walks through those stalks....
hair cropped short, blue eyes blazing....
she comes through that field of life giving grain...
bringing life to me....
ecstasy in her eyes....
fire on her lips...
the southern sun baking the ground to a hard rock...
she is impervious, for she is the embodiment of heat...
all consuming.....
I watch her mesmerized....
she sways on the wind...
not coming any further...
I stand, wanting to be consumed by that fire....
this woman, the epitome of all my dreams...
is here at last..
to her I go, I run....
not daring to let her get away....
into her arms I fall....
her lips meet mine, and she gives to me that heat...
as her breaths suffuses my soul, the very essence of her healing me completely...
I know, I have come home....

Shady lady

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, March, 2001

She lived in a world of shadowy edges. Her moods would swing like the wind. There was no constant in her life.

She smoked Marlboro Reds, and her fingers were tipped blood red.

She had not a care in the world, nor for anyone.

Wearing black bustiers, and stiletto heeled boots, she was called Shady Lady by the locals.

With her flaming red hair, and Nordic green eyes, some dubbed her the Ice Queen.

Little did they know of the passion that lurked within.

She drank gin and tonics, all the day long, without feeling the slightest effect.

Men lusted, woman fantasized, about the one who walked the streets at night.

She was numb of mind, and void of heart.

Her eyes blazed fire, at all who looked in them.

She did not speak, and was not spoken to.

"Who is this creature, that roams after dark?" they whispered.

She was was nowhere, headed nowhere, with wandering on her mind.

Smoking her Marlboro Reds, drinking gin and tonics, she walked the streets at night.

Her blood was warm, her body was on fire.

Her mouth begged to be kissed, her soul begged to be nurtured.

Instead, she walked at night, with nowhere to go smoking Marlboro Reds, and drinking gin and tonics.
She had nowhere to go.

Summer yellow, Winter Blue

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, May 25, 2002

She walked with a purpose, with intent on her mind.
Her eyes shifted missing nothing. A flick of the wrist and her hair went flying, across the shoulder, down the back...

She walked with a purpose, with intent on her mind.
Summer yellow skin, winter blue eyes...

She stopped at the corner, to dance with the fella that gave her a smile...

She paused at the boardwalk to walk arm in arm with the lady that could not see...

She continued her journey, walking with a purpose intent on her mind...

"Who is that creature?" they asked as she passed them by.

"Why that's Shady Lady," one replied with a smile on her face and a Marlboro red in her hand...

Synergy

the night was filled with eerie light

the skies danced with rainbow fire

the aurora visited my bedroom that night

as my lover sang to me

she sang of love and yearning and pain

she sang to me of love and rain

the night grew long, the air grew cool

and still she sang to me of morning dawns and dark night dews

I touched her hand, I felt her pulse

matching my own, one life force

her voice was like honey, smooth and deep

the look in her eyes, said "You're mine to keep"

I felt it then, that force that heat

flowing through my body like volts...synergy

We two are one, and yet we are two

Keeping time, one heart one mind

Synergy...

A Woman

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, May, 2002

the light of the moon in her eyes

the blush of a rose in her cheeks

the dew of the dawn on her lips

the scent of lavender on her neck

the most fragile of silks are her shoulders

the lily of the valleys between her breasts

the hidden Eden upon her stomach

the lush, sweet garden between her legs

the soft stalks of tulips that are her thighs

the curve of the earth in the arch of her feet

the shimmering wheat that is her hair

the pulse point of life that is her vitality

the curved silhouette of her in side-view profile

the dip of her hip, made to fit my hand

the long slender vines of her fingers entwine...

I lay down beside her

her power, her passion does sanctify

I breathe of her slowly

filling my lungs to bursting

I close my eyes, her presence abounding

A creature of the night

A goddess of the day

My lover, my confidant, my friend...

She is a Woman...

"What If" The Theory...

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, June 4, 2002

What if the sky were purple?

What if the grass were blue?

Would you tell me your heart, would you tell me your thoughts true?

What if the soul sang to you?

What if the question was "will you"?

Would turn you aside, smile and hide or would you run to me and say "I do?"

What if the what ifs stopped?

What if the feelings subside?

Would you question the muse that came to you, or would you say "Come back! Tell me the song of you?

What if the mists rolled in, shrouded you in warm wet heat?

Would you open wide, and let it permeate?

Or would you close the door, and turn your back, to see it never again?

What if the what if screamed, this is me, this is you, this is we as one in harmony?

When the time was ripe, what would you do, if the what if said..."I love you?"

I can only hope, you'd say, "I love you too..."

Gentle Maelstrom...

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, July 20, 2002

My skin is lucid, sensation fills my heart forbidden...

Kindling a spark, fanning a fire...

I think I worry at the subtle ways I'd give in to your insistent persuasion...

My tragic sighs, from deep within, carry on them the yearnings keen...

Enter into me, with your smooth words, the pull of your mysterious eyes...

Whisper into me the smile upon your lips...

My body aches to breathe your breath, your passion feeds the fire...

And the time in between, where the calm is inside me, night in the window shining with intensity...

A siren's song, to give in to need...to give in to want...to give all there is...

And somewhere inside, is a measure of calm that waits with taut anticipation...

Waiting for the maelstrom that is you...

To take my breath, my soul, my heart, my body...

Away...

Winged Hope

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, May 2002, Revised February 2005

Take this cloak of darkness from my shoulders
Speak to me of warming suns and cleansing rain
Of cold winter nights and homespun tales

Walk with me amidst the ruins of my shattered soul
Can you hear them, these cries of old?
Can you hear the whispers haunting here?

It’s chaos this, these shouts that linger on
Do you see the shards, oh how they cry!

Open eyes, staring as if closed
A shattered heart, damaged, fighting for control

Listen!

Something comes
Across a great divide
Spanning oceans wide
Vast spaces and galaxies

Through storms a thundering and battling raging tides
Spinning round, desperately I look

And there, on the horizon, I see Hope
Battle worn and travel weary
With a cry of joy I throw my arms wide

She settled, wrapped me snug and comforted me
She took away my dank cloak, unfettered my heart
Transported me from these ruins, these snarls
That entangled me so

“Guide me now, don’t let me fall!” I cried with fear
And off I went into the clouds so clear
Smiling, she watched me fly…
And I knew the day had come
Where I would look back no more
And worry even less...

Fear

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, May 2001
(Written under the pseudonym CamKen) Revised July 2002

Fear resides like a cancer, eating away at your soul
Day turns into night, and still the Fear rules
Growing into monumental proportions
You’re unable to contain, unable to control
So, you let It rule and It becomes the Master and you the slave
To Fear you are just another notch on the proverbial belt
How long will you remain a slave, a hostage in Fear’s dark cellar?
Fear becomes the embodiment of real, no longer a passing figment
Fear dines across from you at the place of honor
Fear becomes your lover, whispering darkness in your ear
Cringing, you banish It not, but open trembling arms to welcome It in

You give of your body, your most precious soul and mind
You let It drain, like a succubus, all the positive vibes
As It spews negativity, and scars your soul
As It laughs at your weaknesses, and strengthens It’s control
As It laps at your tears, food for It’s black soul
I cry to YOU, come out of that darkness, let yourself breathe
Come out of that hell, and live

I yell to you…

Break the chains of bondage; divest Fear of It’s power!
Break the web of deception!
Then you will be free!
