Dance With Me

Take my hand
Come inside of me
Share my world

My life…
My dreams…
My ecstasies…

Gaze at the stars
Revel in the luminance of the moon
Fly on wings, fairy light and whimsical

Come…dance with me…

Let your heart be light
Your soul unchained and free

Discard the fetters of darkness past
Scoff at the shackles, broken now, that once held thee

Let the light come through
Sweet, sweet light
Yours now, at long last

Feel it here a song for you
Whispering a dull roar

A muted sound, a promise this
Hear it now

Heed the lore for it is old
Tap the world at our feet

Hush, no more now…

Come!

Dance with me…

The Witching Hour - Madness and Mayhem

I'm falling and there's nothing to stop my descent
I'm afraid and there's no one to comfort away my fears
I am alone and that is an empty, echoing feeling...

I hear the ghosts of pains long past whispering delusion in my head
I can't turn it off, turn aside, or go around
Feet to the fire, I must stand this ground

Ride the violent tempest as it takes me unfamiliar lands
I feel my control slipping
I'm losing this battle

As wars are raged on the stages of my mind
Thundering hooves of warrior-ridden destroyers come to take away my sanity
And commit me forever to the dead land asylum

I feel the walls of this vacuous place close in on me like ravening teeth
And I wail at fate and destiny for bringing me here

Should I fight or just give in?

I feel the second wager of this battle beginning...
Loves call a haunting melody
Like the crash of the sea against her lover, the shore

Caressing the edges softly
Whispering in my blood
The sultry beat of it, that used to be booming thuds

Subtle now this song and dance, my savior in an ideal world
Lover's twist of fate
A touch of madness
The cacophony of mayhem...

Endless

On a day like this

When everything's in harmony

When the coming together has jigsawed into place.

On a day like this when my heart beats a steady tattoo

When my energies are attuned, honed, and sanctified...

When expectations, anticipations, and contemplations

are on the rise...

I feel I could go on forever.

On a day like this when the wind blows glacially o'er the land

When the mountains rise in majestic profile

When the sun is muted by the moons bright pride

and the air is crisp with the snap of winters icy smile

I feel frozen in time, captured like a photograph

in black and white stark against the background...

I feel I could go on forever.

On a day like this when my Lady Muse is whispering

seducing words in my ear, cajoling pen to paper

To encapsulate the depiction, set it down right.

I feel her smile, oh so sweetly urging the creation

I feel I could go on forever...

Ride

The wind played a sonata with her hair

Cresting in waves about the curve of her shoulders

The glint of a setting sun turning her skin burnished gold

Hands on the wheel, max on the throttle

We ride…

The crash of the waves against a landscape jagged

The dull roar of the ocean ragged

Music pumping on the stereo

The silk of her suit flirtatious and bold

Flying along hairpin highway curves

We ride…

The tap of her hands in tune to the beat

A soft smile on her face, she’s feeling great

The movement of her head as she bobs and weaves

Then she laughs, taken over by the groove

Head thrown back she gives me a sexy smile

I catch the glint of smoldering fire in her eyes

Oh she’s looking’ fine

Into the sunset, my lady and I

We ride…

Dreamscapes

In the dead of a cold night, in a house of quiet stillness
With the background of a song echoing hauntingly
I call out your name; the merest whisper, filled with aching melody

After the witching hour
When lucid dreaming has awakened me
And I m standing still, looking out a window framing a tar black night
As the vestiges of a falling star fades in brilliance
I see you looking in and I call out your name
I call out your name in the whisper of a voice filled with wondering

My senses are heightened, in a state never before
Listening closely, I hear the pad of stealthy feet
The chilling howl of the lone wolf, and the warbling hoot of the owl
I feel the eyes of the fox, keen in the shadows
And the bray of a birth protector; the proud and noble elk

I feel the playful slap of a dolphin s fin, soft and wet against my cheek
Hear the skitter of a squirrels feet, gathering nuts in cheeks already full
Across divides its come unmarred ; the astral projection of a penguin afar;
I see the raven, dark and brooding, flapping against unseen wind

I stare out the window at this marvel, like a rip in dimensions
After the witching hour, in the dead of a wintry night
I hear your smile, stretching across expansions wide
And I call out your name, the merest whisper, an enlightened melody.

Mystery...

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, December 30, 2002

Fog lay heavy as you kissed me slow

The moon shone too bright for my eyes

The after hues of indigo blue…

The sound of a tide gone by…

Your whispers on my skin

Your fingers a symphony

The look in your eyes steeped in myth, legends and mystery

Try as I might I couldn’t take my gaze from yours as it held me captured

The undertow of your blood singing

And my heart keeping time with an erratic tempo…

What you do to me is unfathomable for this world

As we soar to heights formerly of the unknown

Introduce me to your darkness

Drench me with your enlightenment

Share with me your tales

Of love gone wrong, of love gone awry

Of what brought you here…of what made you mine

Share with me your tales of night

Of your fighting the sluggish plight…

Share with me what put that mysterious light in your eyes

On a wind your voice comes

On a mist your tones thrum, dulcet slow

On a barely discernible laugh

You carry me on this ride

Into the unknown, oh how I welcome it

Take me now, take me slow…

Take me to places I’ve only dreamed I’d go

Lady of the Night, with the scent of Persephone on your energy

The smell of something wild, something lethal just unleashed…comes to me now

I inhale deeply, drowning my lungs

The feral growl on your lips

The nips of your sharp teeth

As I fade I hear a little voice say

Yes, take me now. Into the mists…

But Still She Smiles...

Copyright © by Joie De Vivre, July 21, 2003

Time rolls across her face like ancient railroad tracks

Lips sagging at the sides like old mattress springs

But still she smiles...

She hobbles on legs too small to hold up her socks

And her knees creak with each small step

But still she smiles...

Afflicted with cataract in both her eyes and arthritis in all her joints

A crooked one she is, and slow is her gait

But still she smiles...

Her hair is only a memory

And the blush of the rose long gone from her cheeks

But still she smiles...

Her clothes are but scraps held together by a determined stitch

She owns no material things, not even the wall of a knothole shack to lean a weary hip

Her family is scattered on the four winds just ashes

And the seed from her womb long dead, long buried

She’s walked alone with these shadows and ghosts

But still...she smiles for she's had a full life

Of laughter and love and wondrous light

Her memories keep her warm where her clothes do not

And her face, a wealth of wrinkles and scars, is lit by the golden thoughts that dwell within

These precious things are why, still, she smiles...
