I keep my bed warm on your side
So you'll be comfortable when you return
I watch the clock
It's half past ten
Now that dark has fallen
I wait again

I touch myself
Pretend it's you
But I can't fool my body
It isn't true
I wait all night until the dawn
But then sleep overtakes me
I am gone

On all four corners of the bed
There are ties for your arms and your legs
When you come
I'll keep you near
You will never again leave me here

The moon rolls round
A full circle
The traffic dies and I wish
I knew how
I hear your voice
Can you hear me
I still sing your songs in your memory.

I’ve claimed that word for me
It’s just a word, just a label
But I was afraid of it
Filled up with prejudice
I had these ideas of me as a dyke
What I should wear, what I’d look like
And I was so scared
Of losing myself in it
But then there was you
So beautiful, so powerful
So wonderfully weird with it
And there was no fear in it
After all of these years of trying to hide
It’s only a word for me by your side
I’d be so proud to be with you
So crazy in love with you
I know that you can’t ever feel the same way
It’s enough just to know you’d be proud if you did
It’s enough just to know that you simply exist
You don’t even know that you’ve given a gift
It’s only a word for me by your side.
