Lone Star

Copyright © by LightStream66, June 9, 2010

Look up, do you see it?
There above in the dark sky
Do you see it?
A lone star shinning brightly

As you gaze to the sky
Remember always
I'm never far away
As long as you see that guiding star
Remember what we had...

Fate may tend to pull us apart
And the world may never understand
But never be afraid...
For as long as you see that guiding star
Know that we will see each other again

If not in this life time
I'll see you to the next...
Know that I'll be there waiting
Beyond that guiding star...

In A Perfect World

Copyright © by LightStream66, January 7, 2012

I look in the mirror
All I see is a part of me that remains
A shell, hollowed and empty
A shadow of what it once was

I wonder of what if's and maybe's
"If only I was strong enough to stand"
"If only I was strong enough to speak"
Maybe, just maybe, I would still be intact

But if's and maybe's will not bring back those I've lost
Over the years of hiding these secrets didn't do me any good
But then again what good will it do me now to speak and stand?
When I've already lost a part of me that I know will never come back

Was I to blame for my weakness?
Or should I blame you too?
I admit that I did nothing when I could have done something
But then again so could you, so why didn't you?

A letter of apologies and forgiveness that's written in water
What good will it do when everything that's said is ain't true?
I hate my self, but you're to blame too, should i hate you as well?
How did it all go so wrong?

What we once have will remain
Though I doubt that it will ever be recaptured
What could have been done and haven't
Forever in silence it will remain

In a perfect world
Things could have been different
Everything would have been fine
In a perfect world...
But there is no such thing is there?

What's long gone is gone
The past is past, it should remain so
Easy to say isn't it?
So why, when I look in the mirror
All I see is a part of me that remains
A part of me that still wish that things would have been different
A me in me that have been left in the shadows
Will I ever be whole again?
