Amazing

Amazing, that’s what she said
Hollow words to echo in my head

Be my friend, the sound of her voice bittersweet
Words she wants me to say back but I cannot repeat

Tearing at my heart, words meant to soothe my soul
Heart consumed by the darkest black hole

Disappointment lingers in the air
So much to offer yet not allowed to share

Dawn breaks a new light
Dreams of lost chances hover from the night

Another lesson in life over before it began
This time it was not I who ran

Freedom from Games

Curious glances and snickers abound
A new found strength and courage to be found

No more will I hide or be filled with shame
No more will I play the pretending game

A brave new world for me
A chance for people to see

To my sadness such a brief encounter
To my delight your ability to empower

Day Breaks

Copyright © by Maureen L., January 20, 2009

Darkest night yet I lay awake
Fresh hopes caress with a new day break
Troubled past left in my wake

The world lives again as the sun begins to rise
No more running, no more lies
Truth and honesty seen with open eyes

From past mistakes lessons are learned
Try to leave bridges left unburned
New love awaits with friendships earned

No regrets or forgetting the past
The future promises new memories to last
New lives to touch, new hope to grasp

First Dance

Copyright © by Maureen L., January 22, 2009

I catch her smile with a stolen glance
Our eyes meet, first kiss left to chance
Held so tight as we begin to dance

The scent of her perfume so intoxicating
The race of her pulse tantalizing
The most beautiful face, always smiling

Eyes as green as a deep forest moss
Hair left down, shining with gloss
So struck by her beauty my words are lost

The night envelops us in its hand
Dancing to music played by no band
No one else matters, this is our land

She knows

Sitting helpless, miles apart
Tears in her words, pain in her heart

Fear of hurting her with my mistake
Only so much one person should take

Enough pain weighs on her shoulders
Harsh broken feelings linger and smolder

Tore down walls that should never be replaced
Only love and honesty will give you that open space

Times are darkest in the peak of the night
Love isn’t a battle you should have to fight

Sacrificed herself for the sake of others
Taken for granted, all she asks is a caring lover

Sands of time will tell of her fate
Happiness and love, not a moment too late

With the deepest caring I will always listen
With a heavy heart and tears that glisten

I cannot replace what I took when I strayed
But I will promise to never turn away

Crossed Paths

Copyright © by Maureen L., January 23, 2009

No chance encounters ever occur
God's plan for us all is always solid and sure

Friendships gained through personal disappointment
Just means a friendship with God's anointment

Regardless of self sacrifice each has made
The value of this friendship cannot be paid

This is a friendship that will always remain
A pure and simple sin to refrain

Awakened

Copyright © by Maureen L., January 25, 2009

Fingers trembling as she takes me by the hand
The look in her eyes more than I can stand
The passion of the night trembles and quakes
Every nerve in my body wide-awake
Her lips meet mine full of passion
Convey the longing for satisfaction
Fully naked, her body against mine
I need to feel our bodies together entwined
Caress my hand down from her cheek
The taste of her tongue ever so sweet
Trailing my hands over her ever curve
Awakening her senses and every nerve
From her lips to her neck my kisses explore
Her breath catches as she asks for more
My hands reaching down, I can feel her heat
Her body tingles from her head to her feet
Gently probing my fingers inside
Our world seems to move with the ocean tide
My lips brush across her nipple
Tongue swirling, taking gentle nibbles
She runs her fingers though my hair
The scent of our bodies in the air
Feeling her skin under my lips
Soft gentle kisses along her hips
Excitement building that neither can stand
Her gentle urging becomes a demand
My tongue is delighted as it gets its first taste
The passion built but moving without haste
Her body reacting to my every move
I give her everything with nothing to lose
Her body is rocked as she reaches orgasm
Our love is complete and deeper than any chasm

No More the Lonely Road

Copyright © by Maureen L., January 26, 2009

Once again, she walks alone
So many times the path has worn out stone
The wind sends a chill through the bone

On the horizon, she sees a light
Gives her purpose to walk through the night
The end of her heart’s lovesick fight

She reaches her lover’s house she will call home
A sense of belonging finally known
Her roots have rain and now can be grown

Forsaken

Copyright © by Maureen L., January 27, 2009

A thousand screams caught in her throat
In total darkness voices mock and gloat
No bridge exist to cross this moat

Dreams remain endless nightmares
The truth spoken, life is unfair
Heart caught in a painful snare

At times there feels like no tomorrow
Drowning in a sea of sorrow
A chance at happiness no one allows her

The world around her out of control
Eternity waits and is forever slow
Now or never, it is time to go

Take all the pieces to put back together
Staying leaves no chance to get better
Only true love will ever mend her

What You Want

Copyright © by Maureen L., January 28, 2009

The gentle breeze blows the grass
Each blade bows in an elegant dance

Birds in song take off in flight
Flying towards Heaven in the warm sunlight

Buds on the trees yearn to open
Miracle of life held within them

The world we live is a beautiful place
To ignore all that is offered is the worst disgrace

God holds the world in His loving hands
Every creature a well thought out plan

Keep cherished ones close, only one chance to live
Life and love God’s gift to give

All you want is there to take
Life is yours and it is what you make
