Sleepless Night

Copyright © by Michelle Wadlow, August 27, 2001

I lie awake sleepless
tossing and turning
worried she might wake
A black angel comes
lays next to me
a soft purr
a nibble
a lick
I know she cares
Another comes
looking for a place
a place of comfort
security
next to the one asleep
This one who cares
does she know
how happy
free
her touch
her kiss
her gentleness
Do I tell her
does she know
I love her so

Writers Block

Same old story
A thought comes to mind
the written word
seems to flow though
onto the page
Then it hits
writers block
she pauses
the black and white stops in the middle of a word
and and and
nothing
Words won't come
She panics
What do I write
to the loved one
sitting behind her desk
Why hasn't her Shelly Bean written
I have to write something
I want her to feel loved
admired
cared for
I know she heard
the
you're so beautiful
and damn babe you look so nice

Meanwhile
pining over the unfinished word
there sits a cute girl
with writers block
Cleopatra sitting next to her
