You are gently penetrating my mind,
a friendly intruder upon my thoughts.
You are encroaching upon my dreams,
roaming the dark territory of my nights.
You enter with stealth into my daydreams,
a quiet pursuer through every fantasy.
You pick the lock that secures my emotions,
searching for loot within Pandora's Box.
You are purloining my most fragile treasure,
you steal away with a kiss,
and leave me pleasantly...invaded.

The fruit of Persephoni's fall
Little luminous garnets
translucent kernels in a
pumpkin-scented nest
halved like an oyster shell
I pluck each little pearl
hold it up to the light for it
to glow
roll the jewel in my fingers
then on my tongue
to feel its slippery
smoothness as a child
sucks on a marble
Between my four
front teeth,
I almost reluctantly
cut the baby fruit in half
a burst of grape-cranberry
sweet-tartness
as I scrape away the skin
from the seed
the flesh
is swallowed
the bone
is expelled.
