After the passion is spent...
I hold you in my arms...
I am drawn into your beautiful eyes now filling with tears...
tears of joy...
tears of happy...
tears of love...
The soft smile that now plays across your lips tells me of your
fulfillment...(as if I hadn't already known from the unorchestrated
music that come from within the depths of your being!)
My heart swells with love for you...
That love bursts through and nearly cuts off the flow of blood to my
brain...the breath to my lungs...and leaves a boulder lodged tight in my
throat...
I gently brush your lips, your neck, your cheeks, your eyes, your nose,
your brow with my lips...
As your eyes unwillingly close, I lie beside you and watch sleep
overtake you...
Your breathing calms and I watch the gentle rise and fall of your lovely
breasts, as the smile remains on your lips...
I hold back my tears as I try to hold back the dawn...knowing all too
well what the coming of the sun will mean...
The uncaring dawn will rip you from my arms and will fling us both apart
for Goddess knows how long...
I pray for Kronos to turn back and repeat this time with you over and
over again...but as the last prayer is uttered from my lips...the first
rays of the sun peek through the trees choking my prayer with a silent
Our meeting took place
In a world far away...
Where there were no faces
No night and no day...
Your call gently guided
My soul to your side...
I knew I was in for
A long lovely ride...
It started quite simply
Your hand placed in mine...
We danced till forever
And drank the sweet wine...
The morning then found us
Alone and apart...
But it was too late
For I gave you my heart...
And so I keep searching
From that world to this...
For something remembered
In each lover's kiss...
I gaze into faces
In search of your eyes...
And make love with many
In all of my lives...
To love once again
The sweet soul I once knew...
And dance till forever
My soulmate...with you...
Last night under the moonless, star-clouded heavens I felt your tears in
the wind that blew across the desert like a furnace on my sunbaked skin.
My rust-colored horse picked her way absentmindedly through the fragrant
sagebrush that once held you as enthralled as I to this beautiful harsh
landscape. I guided my mare to a narrow pathway and gave her control as
we climbed out of the steep switchbacks of the deep ravine to the barren
mesa. Taking the kerchief from around my neck, I wiped the sweat from my
face and took a swallow of water from the canteen hanging from the
saddlehorn.
I thought about the last time we were together and how we tried to
stretch 24 hours into an eternity. But the inevitable had arrived and I
remember your reaction when I told you it was time for me to leave. You
said nothing, you simply stared straight ahead then covered your
haunting eyes with your hands. No tears were shed, but when you lowered
your trembling hands from your face, your eyes betrayed the pains of a
thousand goodbyes. I held you in my arms, tenderly brushed your lips
with mine, gave you my heart for safekeeping and vanished out of your
life.
No tears were shed then...but here, alone with my horse and the hidden
denizens of the desert night, I look up at Orion, our favorite
constellation, I smell the sweet desert sagebrush, our favorite perfume,
I choke back the sobbing loneliness in my soul and feel your tears on the
wind...
