Hat Jokes
Tea
And first doctor's last names
Preceding reminders
Of invisible men
With rough hands
Tightly bound
In lost
Troubled
Early morning poetry
Tasting of angry salt
And textured
By the Atlantic
Raven
Calls from the square edge
Of a tall building
My morning commute
Accented
Raven
Stares from a rounded
Brick protrusion
Two or three
Polite smiles later
Raven
Speaks again
A bony tree
Supporting the slight frame
Thin feathers
And powerful imagery
Mist in my mouth
The ten of clubs
Face up in the street
Bats one
Cloverleaf eyelash
Winking at me
Through the cold
A tap
An indecipherable whisper
My muse
Or guardian
I am unsure which
Dreaming in my ear
