Chasm

Copyright © by Tamara Spicer, February 15, 2011

Longing for you
Any part will do
Drowns me in shame.
The pulling ache of my claim
Brings me back to when you came.

To see me now
The need to bring you to your knees
Defenseless and tortured
Makes the fires in me yearn
To consume you as you have me

The agony of my wounds
Soundlessly still me to madness
Need for you
Erodes my self-preservation

Your face leaked into my heart
Trigger recurring explosions.
Depart, images of happiness
A mirage of utopia invade my senses
Leaving me strapped and exposed

A passionate junkie
Is what you have caused me to become
Sweet yearning to touch you
To talk yet once to you
To gather all of you

Obsessed; am I?
Wretched and pathetic; I am?
The jest of fallen jokes; I am?
Past indiscretions hale sand, to open wounds.
Open arms or turned back
I fear to ask

Yet love has embraced me
Treacherously leeching into my soul
Am I condemned to love?
In only one in whose reality I ache to belong
I pray the chasm to be broken

Do I crave too much? Love to deeply?
Oh tell me, tell me
Is your love fleeting?
Is it seeking: is it beating?
Is it the chasm I’ve been chasing?

NO MORE CHAINS

Dust blows in my face
As I confront my place
Cobwebs block my sight
As I reconcile what’s right
The mighty will tumble
Only if the meek hold
And not then crumble.
Enemies ride your back.
Reptiles and self-praising humans
Seek and search with demons
Recoil…they flee
As the power of you; proceeds.

Be strong
My family, my friends, my brother
It is not gone
The light of healing has to gather.
The wicked rejoice; dance and make noise
At every opportunity they take you as a sucker
They blame not themselves, but some other
The cruelty at which you, at once suffer.

Arise, raise all of you
Gather as dusk breaks anew
Attain that which is to the core
Ring the bell no more.
The servant will not bend
For she has reached her end
The lowly paid worker
Will carry no more on his shoulder
No longer let them discard
Send them to hell with your regards

Discover; recover
Maintain your dignity
Welcome back your sanity
Don’t cower in your airless cubicle
Choking on your shame and felling fearful
Dictate your own path
Let them quiver; squirm under your wrath
Step away from the merry-go-round
Holds still never again frown
Smile and accept; think of the next step
Whatever it is it will be bliss
Answer to you, not to them
Break the chasm
No more chains; only freedom.

Movements of a Dance

Copyright © by Tamara Spicer, February 16, 2011

Sitting on a rock seeing beyond
She wonders, Is it over?
Or shall there be another
Expression into the wonders of life

She consumes a picture
Of forgotten loneliness
And captures newfound
Happiness and love

To touch the body that smoothes out
Beneath her fingers
To feel the texture of desire
That has etched in the world of ecstasy

She feels the heat
But through the flame
She sees her future
Warming up to her

A tangling kiss spreads
It goes deeper
Where tongues collide
And intermingle

Then as they dance they get closer
It is impossible for it is in the go
Into the waters of desire, pain
And forever after love

The dance formulates,
The rhythms continue
The hearts beat one drum
Until it explodes
As a clatter of thunder.
