How quickly love and hate meld, as if twins
Cooperatively sustenance cooperatively ends
Scrapped clean of torrid emotion and finally
Left bare in ambivalent antipathy....
Raw, raw and nothing more to burn are
My eyes, my flesh, my heart, soul
Wishing to come to you in unrequited glory……
So near across the room as our minds express
Our words dance and make love as one
And our audience of friends is lost
To our lustful sauterelle of intellect
And to memories of moments missed
To my memories that my femininity
Did not you crave in your feminine bliss…
Of the end, as we spake in unison
Our minds irrevocably linked in remiss…
And so we parted with shreds of light
And shreds of a spectral darkness
That could not reach me….
That did not want me…..
So far away yet such as one
Though time will come and come and come
Though your flesh not wish to be mine
Though my lust still dares wish to share thine
Though I will never declare it again…
I thought I loved you……
I love you still………
Yet I hear it over and over in refrain
Quoth the phallus-lover to the lesbian:
‘Never again’.
When woman enters woman
There is a price that must be paid
There are nights engorged and throbbing
There is twine that leads to rage
When woman enters woman
It goes beyond divine
It climbs and soars and plunges deep
Past heights of God-alive
The Goddess comes and comes once more
As patriarchs gnash their teeth
Where Morrigan sees and Minona adored--
Finally female becomes divine in keep
Her place beyond phallic trinity
Where limb and thigh their flowers meet
And sweet compassion flows and weeps
As witch-hunts pass, less impunity
And power in love meets power in sex
In combining our essence I refuse to rest
Her breasts, her chest collide and I’m free
When woman enters woman to finally---be.
