Long Awaited Play

Copyright © by WM. Kellerman, February 15, 2000

We've talked the talk and now its time to play
You pick me up from the airport with a grin on your face
We drive back to the apartment it's getting kinda late
Do we want to play this game or wait another day?
We've made our bed and it's time to sleep
But instead we just lay there telling life's silly stories
We talk all night and into the next day
You lay your head on my arm and begin to drift away
I kiss your forehead I cannot resist
A chill goes through my body as you steal the next kiss
Should I just lay there or make the next move
We both know it's wrong but what can we do?
I finally find it in me to make the next move
As one thing leads to another i find myself on top of you
We roll around on the floor until I find you making all the moves
You've come back strong and IM afraid IM about to lose
So now your on top and winning the game
There's no more talk just that grin on your face
I take out the card I've been meaning to play
And see the surprise come over your face
Now its I that's winning the game
We've played this game for more then a few hours
And the people upstairs are starting to shower
Neither one of us knowing who won we decide to call it a night
for this games only just begun
You look my way with that grin on your face
And I think at least I wasn't afraid to make that long awaited play
